Language core literacy is the core concept of language curriculum reform,and has now become the anchor point of students’ language ability cultivation.As an important part of Chinese literature,the vernacular novel is a literary style created by vernacular writers rooted in the rich local color and regional flavor,which contains rich cultural connotation and factors for cultivating language core literacy.The vernacular novels selected in the unified version of the high school language textbook are not only classical but also profound in meaning.Through the study of vernacular novels,students can accumulate beautiful language,expand the depth of their thinking,improve their aesthetic ability,enhance their knowledge of vernacular culture,and establish a correct view of vernacular culture,which has high teaching value.However,in today’s vernacular novel teaching,there are many problems that fail to give full play to the nurturing function of vernacular novels,making the teaching effect less than ideal and not conducive to cultivating students’ language core literacy.Based on the core literacy of language,the paper firstly compares the titles of vernacular novels in the unified version of high school language textbooks,and summarizes the characteristics of vernacular novels in high school textbooks in terms of importance,distribution and spatial and temporal span;based on the new curriculum,the teaching requirements of vernacular novels are clarified;with this as the starting point,the teaching value of vernacular novels in the four aspects of language core literacy is explored.Secondly,we analyze the current teaching situation of high school vernacular novels through questionnaire surveys of teachers and students,and point out the problems in teaching and learning at present.Then,based on the four aspects of language core literacy and the analysis of the problems,we propose teaching strategies such as "nurturing people with local sounds and rhythms,enlightening people with text interpretation,casting people with aesthetic experience,and shaping people with local culture" in order to promote students’ language core literacy.Lastly,the study is based on language core literacy to develop the teaching design of the vernacular novel "The Border Town",and summarizes and reflects on the implementation effect of the teaching design.Through the study,we found that the construction of teaching strategies for vernacular novels with language core literacy as the goal can,to a certain extent,change the current situation of teaching vernacular novels,open up the vision of teaching vernacular novels,promote the development of students’ language core literacy,and improve the implementation and development of teaching vernacular novels in high schools. |
