| The problem of mathematics underachievers,as an inevitable outcome of educational development,is universal.There are particularly more mathematics underachievers in rural high schools,which is mainly related to the factors including educational environment,teaching level,educational methods,and families’ educational ideology in rural areas.Taking mathematics underachievers in rural junior high schools as the research object,this paper studied the current learning situation,problem causes,conversion cases and countermeasures of the underachievers.First of all,it surveyed the basic types and learning status of mathematics underachievers in rural junior high schools by means of questionnaire survey and interviews with 400 students in Grade 7 and Grade 8 of Zichang Rural High School in Yan’an City,and in-depth field investigation of students’ learning environment and living environment.Secondly,it analyzed both the internal and external reasons for the formation of mathematics underachievers in rural junior high schools.Finally,according to the cause-effect analysis of underachievers and 3successful conversion cases,it proposed specific countermeasures for the conversion of underachievers,thus to effectively promote the smooth development of the education of underachievers.The paper consists of three parts.The first part studies the current situation of rural mathematics underachievers,analyzes the current situation and problems of rural mathematics underachievers through questionnaires and interviews,accumulates a wealth of data,makes in-depth summary and analysis,and clarifies the following research ideas.The second part delves into the reasons for the formation of rural mathematics underachievers from two dimensions,internal factors and external factors.The internal influencing factors mainly include students’ learning motivation,mathematics learning interest,knowledge mastery,etc,while the external factors mainly include the influences from society,teachers,families,etc.The third part studies the conversion strategy of mathematics underachievers in rural junior high schools.This paper conducted a tracking research on 3 underachievers in Grade 7 and Grade 8 of rural junior high school in Zichang City.Through the implementation of personalized conversion methods,these 3 students had made improvements to varying degrees after a period of time,achieving significant effects.According to the reasons for the formation of underachievers,combined with the conversion cases,this paper put forward the conversion countermeasures for mathematics underachievers in junior high schools,to help them establish learning objectives,correct the learning attitude and cultivate logical thinking ability.What’s more,it is necessary to strengthen the guidance of learning methods,for mathematics teachers to become caring and patient,to improve the artistic feature of mathematics teachers’ lead-in class,to change teaching methods,and to strengthen the co-construction mechanism of families,schools and society. |
