In this paper,12 general undergraduate colleges and universities in Shaanxi Province are taken as the investigation objects,and the teaching status of aerobics option class in colleges and universities is carefully investigated and analyzed by using literature,questionnaires and interviews,and the relevant data are statistically processed,and relevant countermeasures and suggestions are put forward for the existing problems,which will have a positive impact on the improvement of the teaching quality of aerobics option class in colleges and universities in Shaanxi Province.(1)At present,all the general undergraduate institutions in Shaanxi Province have offered aerobics option classes,the number of hours per semester of aerobics in each university is more or less the same,the total number of semesters and total hours vary,24 hours of theory class;the teaching content of the theory class mainly teaches the basic overview of aerobics,etc.,the teaching content of the practice class uses the standard level of mass exercise routines and aerobics line dance;teaching methods mainly use demonstration The teaching methods mainly use demonstration,explanation,decomposition exercises,correction of movement errors and help method,etc.;multimedia teaching software and network teaching methods are used less;the assessment content of aerobics option class is physical quality,theory,technique and usual performance;the assessment method mainly combines process evaluation and summative evaluation;the teaching materials mainly use the national unified textbook and our own textbook.(2)Students are generally interested in the aerobics program and have a serious learning attitude.Because of the high difficulty of aerobics teaching content,students’ own physical quality is difficult to meet the requirements.In addition,students practice less often after class,so it is difficult to master the technique.(3)The teachers of aerobics option class are mainly female teachers and fewer male teachers;young and middle-aged teachers account for the majority of teachers;teachers with master’s degree and associate professor titles are mainly;some teachers of aerobics option class are non-athletic professional teachers;teachers with referee and coach certificates of cheerleading and line dance are fewer;teachers have few opportunities for study and further training and relevant scientific research achievements.(4)The professional gymnasiums and equipment facilities of the universities are more reasonably configured,but the teachers’ usage rate in the teaching of aerobics option class is poor,and they cannot give full play to the proper function of the venue equipment.(5)Universities should actively take measures to explore the teaching methods adapted to the characteristics of students,accelerate the optimization and improvement of faculty,hardware construction and related teaching management system,and lay a solid foundation for the improvement of teaching quality.
