| The construction of “double first-class” has stimulated the vitality of university reform and construction momentum,promoting the construction of a strong postgraduate education to a new historical period.The first-class faculty is a powerful support to cultivate high-level composite talents and build a world-class graduate education.Doctoral supervisors play a key role in cultivating high-level talents in China,and the construction of a perfect position management system of doctoral supervisor is an important measure to play to the academic nurturing role of doctoral supervisors and respond to the “double first-class” strategic measures.It focuses on the position management system of doctoral supervisors in first-class universities.The main research methods are literature research method,historical research method,comparative research method,case study method and interview survey method.It investigates the current situation of the implementation of the position management system of doctoral supervisor in domestic first-class universities,finds out the problems and proposes optimization strategies.It examines the connotation and significance of position management system of doctoral supervisor from the perspective of teacher professional development theory,institutional system theory and stakeholder theory,then sorts the development lineage of the doctoral supervisor position management system and combine the existing systems in domestic universities,and divide the position management system of doctoral supervisor into the supervisor selection and identification system,training system,instructing students system,assessment and evaluation system and academic sabbatical system.It summarizes the current situation and characteristics of the management system of doctoral supervisors in 42 first-class universities in China from five aspects based on the documents related to the management system of doctoral supervisors.At the same time,it focuses to the position management system of doctoral supervisor of Southeast University.Interviews are conducted with doctoral supervisors,educational administrators and doctoral students,and the interview data is analyzed by Nvivo 11 plus,a qualitative analysis tool,to investigate the operation of the position management system of doctoral supervisors and the opinions and attitudes of stakeholders towards the system,analyze the problems in the implementation of the position management system of doctoral supervisor accordingly.Based on the analysis of the overall sample and the case study of doctoral supervisor position management system in first-class universities in China,this paper discusses the construction and implementation of doctoral supervisor position management system from two perspectives of concept and implementation:(1)leading the construction of position management system of doctoral supervisor with innovative concepts;(2)perfecting the selection conditions of supervisors to improve the flexibility of position management system;(3)establishing tutor training schools and promoting the implementation of tutor training system;(4)implementing the authority and responsibility of doctoral supervisor positions,balancing rights and responsibilities;(5)integrating the concept of “portfolio” in assessment and evaluation and adopting comprehensive evaluation;(6)improving academic sabbatical system to fill the gap of the post management system. |
