| The development of technology and the pace of the times demand that "online teaching" be the only form of teaching that can complement offline teaching in the future.In China,research on online teaching began at the beginning of the 21 st century,and in the next decade or so,the state issued documents to promote the development of online teaching,but because online teaching was not practiced in schools,it did not develop rapidly in primary and secondary schools until 2020,when it became widely practiced due to the COVID-19.As the research on online teaching becomes more and more in-depth,it can be found that online teaching as a form of teaching is a necessary path for teaching development.However,the practice of online teaching is still very short-lived on a large scale so there are still many problems that need to be solved.This thesis takes online teaching and learning in a school during COVID-19 as the research object,and consists of five main chapters.The first introductory chapter discusses the background and significance of online language teaching in junior high school,and compares the relevant literature to identify the research methodology and basic ideas.Chapter 2 gives a basic description of online teaching: the concepts of "online teaching" and "teaching strategies" are discussed;the necessity of online teaching,the characteristics of online teaching and several basic models of online teaching are introduced.The third chapter uses student questionnaires and teacher interviews to examine "teachers’ teaching","students’ learning habits","learning effectiveness","students’ evaluation of online language teaching in junior high school" and "students’ evaluation of online teaching in junior high school".Chapter 3provides an overview of the current situation of online language teaching in junior high school through student questionnaires and teacher interviews.Chapter 4 analyzes the data from the survey on online language teaching in junior high school in Chapter3 to identify the problems from students,teachers and teaching contents and analyze the causes of the problems.Chapter 5 proposes suggestions for improving online language teaching in junior high schools based on the causes of the problems and the characteristics of online language teaching in junior high schools in terms of students,teachers and teaching contents.The concluding section provides an outlook on online language teaching in junior high school and concludes the thesis. |
