In the age of social media, screenshots have implicitly become an indispensable subconscious habit in individuals’ daily lives, and are often seen in both work and study. In recent years, screenshots of chat records,as a special type of screenshots, are often used by individuals to share in their interpersonal circles due to their natural social nature, and the spread of screenshots of We Chat chats has become a typical media landscape for a while. When private screenshots begin to spread from the private sphere to the public, the scope of visibility gradually widens, which in turn brings significant impacts on individuals’ daily interactions, especially the social problems such as privacy invasion and rumor-mongering caused by the loss of visibility are particularly prominent and need to be paid attention to and resolved by all social actors. This study attempts to focus on screenshots such as We Chat chat logs from the theory of media availability, and uses questionnaires and in-depth interviews to explore the social issues brought about by changes in the visibility of screenshot communication from a microscopic perspective.College students are more proficient and tolerant of social networks than other groups, and have more time for entertainment and social interaction,so they are the main force of social media users. In addition,in recent years, the number of negative cases of miscommunication of chat screenshots mainly among college students has gradually increased,so the research object of this study focuses on this group of college students. To address this research problem, this study is divided into chapters to explore the visibility of screenshot dissemination in We Chat, the visibility management of screenshot dissemination in We Chat, the visibility problem of screenshot dissemination in We Chat, and the reflection and governance of screenshot dissemination.Through the survey on the visibility of We Chat screenshots dissemination among college students,it is found that the visibility of chat screenshots dissemination meets the needs of individuals for efficient communication and self-presentation to a certain extent;in addition, many college students often manage the visibility of screenshots dissemination when disseminating chat screenshots, and have a certain awareness of privacy protection. In addition, many college students often manage the visibility of screenshots and have a certain awareness of privacy protection, but nearly half of them do not realize that the visibility of communication needs to be managed appropriately,so that it can flow within an appropriate range and grasp a certain degree. In the usual dissemination behavior of chat screenshots, many college students have obvious practices of spreading random and generalized visibility, and there are many negative cases in real life about college students deliberately distorting and falsifying chat records and spreading them recklessly. In this study,we conclude that there are not only moral and ethical issues such as social ethics and privacy intrusion, but also many legal issues such as infringement of rights and disturbance of social order in the dissemination of chat screenshots.Looking at the issue of visibility of chat screenshots and reflecting on it,this study concludes that behind the visibility lies the flow and game of power between technology, people and society, that visibility has both advantages and disadvantages for human social communication, and that the use of visibility of screenshots needs to be moderately legalized and compliant. In the future, the law,the media,Internet platforms, the public and other social actors should be fully aware of the issue of visibility of screenshot communication, both at the legal level to regulate the legitimization of screenshot communication and at the moral level to guide the public to inject more communication rationality into screenshot sharing. |
