| On May 21,2021,the Ministry of Education officially adopted the Opinions on Further Reducing the Burden of Students’ Homework and Off-school Training in the Compulsory Education Stage.The double-reduction policy aims to further reduce the burden of students’ heavy homework and off-school training in the compulsory education stage,and has played a major role in promoting students’ ability to walk out of the classroom and into the playground during after-school activities.Beilin District is one of the downtown areas of Xi’an,and is named for the famous "Forest of Steles" in the district.Beilin District is not only the political,economic and cultural center of Xi’an,but also the most prosperous commercial area in Xi’an.In terms of education,the basic education resources in Beilin District are balanced and high-quality,especially the "double first-class" national famous schools such as Xi’an Jiaotong University and Northwest Polytechnic University,which make the educational advantages of Beilin District prominent.In terms of basketball,the primary school basketball culture in Beilin District of Xi’an City is relatively strong,and the development of after-school basketball activities is relatively mature.The official implementation of the double reduction policy has played a major role in promoting the development of after-school basketball activities in Beilin District,Xi’an.This paper uses the research methods of literature,interview,questionnaire,and field investigation to investigate the current situation of some primary school extracurricular basketball activities,analyze the existing problems,and propose countermeasures for the problems in the development of primary school extracurricular basketball activities in Beilin District,Xi’an.Through investigation and analysis,the following conclusions are drawn: 1.The double reduction policy has been unanimously praised by school leaders,teachers and students’ parents.At the same time,the double reduction policy has been implemented in all primary schools in Beilin District,Xi’an City,only a few primary schools have not been fully implemented.2.After the introduction of the double reduction policy,the pressure of students’ homework and after-school training has been reduced,and students have more valuable time to participate in after-school basketball activities.3.The study found that after the introduction of the double reduction policy,the attitude of students’ parents towards students’ participation in after-school small basketball activities has also changed greatly.Most of the students’ parents are very supportive of students’ participation in after-school small basketball activities.Concern has also changed from worrying about whether students’ grades will decline before the double reduction policy to the safety of students’ participation in after-school basketball activities.4.Under the double reduction policy,students have more free time to participate in after-school basketball activities,which leads to the shortage of school teachers and can not meet the needs of students to participate in after-school basketball activities.5.Some primary schools in Beilin District of Xi’an City carry out after-school activities in the form of unified organization of the whole school,which exposes the disadvantages of low participation of students and crowding.There are also some schools that carry out after-school small basketball activities in the form of free activities for students,which is not conducive to students’ learning of basketball related theoretical knowledge.It is found that the following problems exist in the process of carrying out after-school basketball activities in Beilin District Primary School of Xi’an City: 1.PE teachers generally support the double reduction policy,but very few schools do not fully implement it.2.Some school venues and basket facilities need to be improved.3.Physical education teachers in individual schools are weak,and basketball teachers need to be strengthened.4.Some school activities ignore the cultivation of students’ interests.5.The organization form of after-school small basketball activities in individual schools is not perfect.According to the problems existing in the process of carrying out after-school basketball activities in Beilin District Primary School of Xi’an City,the following suggestions are put forward: 1.Individual school leaders should pay more attention to the implementation of the double reduction policy and put it into place.2.According to the development characteristics of primary school students in China,the China Basketball Association has formulated the specifications of "small basketball" sports ground facilities for different age groups.Schools should invest in the construction of basketball ground,and the allocation of basketball racks in schools should be mainly small basketball racks.In order to meet the needs of students of all ages to participate in after-school basketball activities for venue equipment and facilities.3.Under the double-reduction policy,a large number of students participate in after-school small basketball activities.Therefore,the school should increase the number of sports teachers to recruit,introduce basketball professionals,and increase the number of sports teachers to go out for training.4.In the process of carrying out after-school small basketball activities for primary school students,the link of cultivating students’ interest and motivating students to participate in the basketball games and games in the after-school small basketball activities should be placed in the focus of the activity content.Physical education teachers should popularize safety knowledge,injury prevention and other related knowledge to students.5.In the process of carrying out after-school small basketball activities in primary schools,we should adopt a variety of organizational methods,and try to carry out activities according to classes.The time between classes is staggered,so that every student can participate in after-school small basketball activities. |
