Throughout history, academic research in various fields has consistently confirmed that habits have a crucial impact on all social activities, including personal learning, life, and work.As the saying goes,"Habits become nature." After their initial formation, habits will continue to strengthen positively and negatively with people’s psychological diagrams, while those already formed habits are like human nature and difficult to change.People are also like trees, and the cultivation of habits is the most crucial in the early childhood stage. The age of 5-6also becomes the critical period for habit formation, and children’s self-awareness has not yet fully formed. Therefore,it is necessary for teachers and parents to help children strengthen their habit formation awareness and training during this stage.Learning habits are the concrete manifestation of habits in the field of learning, and the cultivation of learning habits will undoubtedly have a significant impact on students’ future learning and life.Good learning habits can improve students’ learning efficiency, help students complete their learning tasks more efficiently and with high quality, thereby improving students’ academic self-efficacy,improving their interest in learning, learning enthusiasm, and facing the future learning life with a more solid attitude. Therefore, educators must not overlook the cultivation of students’ learning habits.Primary school freshmen are in a critical period of developing learning habits, while also facing a period of significant changes in learning content and methods. Therefore, the cultivation of good learning habits cannot be ignored in primary school. This article first reviews domestic and foreign research literature, and combines the physiological and psychological characteristics of primary school freshmen.Based on the actual teaching situation observed by the author during the research process,a questionnaire and interview outline are compiled from three dimensions of learning habits: pre class learning habits, classroom learning habits, and post class learning habits,to investigate the current situation of primary school freshmen’s learning habits.A total of 447 questionnaires were collected,of which 440 were valid.Through research,it has been found that primary school freshmen are limited by their physiological development stage and psychological level; The role of teachers as role models has not been fully utilized;Inappropriate educational concepts and methods of parents; As well as the continuous changes of learning environment and learning mode under the COVID-19,there is no awareness of making learning plans, and learning initiative is not strong;Inadequate preparation of learning tools before class and slow entry into the learning state;Distracted and unfocused attention in the classroom, lacking the habit of listening attentively;Individual combat, lack of cooperative learning habits;Poor extracurricular reading habits, lack of active review awareness, and other learning habits. On this basis,it is proposed that students themselves should improve their physical adaptability and actively face primary school life;In family education, attention should be paid to stimulating students’ interest in learning and cultivating good behavior habits; In teacher education, attention should be paid to the teaching methods of primary school freshmen, especially in two aspects: pre class preview and maintaining classroom focus; In school education, strategies such as creating classrooms that students enjoy and emphasizing educational guidance for parents should be established.Through the above research,we hope to help educators inspire the cultivation of good learning habits among primary school freshmen, and through the cultivation of good learning habits, improve students’ learning abilities and promote their long-term development.
