Abstract/Summary:
The primary school is a critical period of forming learning habits. Some habits will not be acquired once they miss this period. Chinese is an important subject in the primary education and also the base of other subjects. To Chinese teaching in the primary school, forming good Chinese learning habits is one of the important tasks to achieve the teaching objects, and it is also of significance to the overall development of the students and improvement of quality of all people. With the Chinese learning habits formed, pupils will study easily. This essay focuses on the subject of forming the pupils’ Chinese learning habits based on its importance in their studies and problems at present.Based on the relevant researches on learning habits both at home and abroad, the analysis of the extreme importance of pupils’ Chinese learning habits to their studies and life and surveys of the pupils and parents, I’ve got a good understanding of the present situation of the pupils’ Chinese learning habits by comparing the Chinese learning habits of the pupils in the lower, middle and upper grades and analyzing the problems and causes. The problems are as follow: first, the pupils are poor at controlling themselves, subject to the environment easily. Second, there’s no strong motive for and correct attitude towards Chinese learning. Third, the students are not independent. Forth, there’s no good writing habit, and the pupils do their work carelessly. The causes for these problems are: first, it is the result of the exam-oriented teaching concept. Second, the reform of the new curriculum is not carried out properly. Third, teachers who teach Chinese don’t make profound researches. Forth, there is a lack of cooperation between school and family. To develop the pupils’ good Chinese learning habits needs cooperation between not only school and family but also the whole society. So I suggest the four approaches to improving the pupils’ Chinese learning habits. First, inspire the pupils multiply to take an active part in forming good Chinese learning habits. Second, deepen the reform, fulfilling the comprehensive goals of Chinese curriculum in the primary school. Third, strengthen the training of the teachers, improving the quality of the teachers’ professional development. Forth, strengthen the cooperation between school and family, improving the environment of forming the pupils’ good Chinese learning habits.
