As the new era has placed higher demands on teachers,enhancing teachers’ sense of mission and responsibility has become a hot topic,and the professional image of primary school teachers has gradually gained the attention of the state and the community,with the introduction of policy documents such as the Opinions on Comprehensively Deepening the Reform of Teacher Team Construction in the New Era and the Professional Standards for Primary School Teachers(for Trial Implementation),which point the way to the professional development of primary school teachers.Therefore,clarifying the meaning and the views of different groups of people on the professional image is crucial to the current and future professional development process of primary school teachers,and can effectively improve the professional status of primary school teachers.In this study,three groups of primary school teachers,primary school students and parents were selected as the subjects of the study.Firstly,questionnaires and semi-structured interviews were administered to the three groups;secondly,the primary data were coded and analysed with the help of Nvivo12 software to explore the internal influences on the establishment of the professional image of primary school teachers.Finally,strategies to enhance the establishment of professional image are proposed at several levels.The study found that the factors influencing the professional image of primary school teachers include four core areas: professional philosophy and ethics,professional knowledge and competence,professional development and autonomy,and personal attributes: professional philosophy and ethics include primary school teachers’ professional emotions,professional codes of conduct,professional philosophy and political stance;professional knowledge and competence include professional knowledge and professional competence;professional development and autonomy include professional development and growth and professional autonomy;and personal attributes.The aspect of professional development and autonomy includes professional development and growth and professional autonomy;and the aspect of personal traits includes personal qualities and professionalism.The structural equations were used to find out the relationship between them,and it was found that they all had a positive influence on the professional image of primary school teachers.In view of this,in order to enhance the professional image of primary school teachers,we should take primary school teachers as the main body to cultivate self-awareness of teachers’ image;to refine teachers’ knowledge and skills;to establish teachers’ willingness to develop;and to cultivate teachers’ good qualities.
