Psychological well-being is not only related to the emotional state of individuals, but also focuses on their own development and progress. It is a new way to explore happiness based on positive psychology.Currently, psychological well-being is a key factor in evaluating a person’s psychological state. As high school students age, they enter a critical stage of growth and face enormous challenges. They not only need to cope with academic pressure, but also need to adapt to complex social environments, which makes them prone to psychological problems. In order to achieve academic and other goals, high school students need to put more efforts to explore and stimulate their potential, and achieve certain achievements and satisfaction. And psychological well-being is a positive and stable emotional experience that comes from an individual’s continuous efforts to stimulate their inner potential, thereby realizing themselves. For middle school students who are currently in adolescence, their minds have not fully developed and matured. They not only need to acquire sufficient knowledge and skills, but also should focus on experiencing positive emotions and developing physical and mental health. Therefore,in this crucial stage of learning and development,it is particularly necessary to deeply explore the psychological well-being of high school students and the influencing factors they are affected by.Mindfulness is a conscious and non-judgmental ability to focus on current experiences and inner thoughts, and it is also an important personality trait that has a profound impact on the thinking, emotions, and behavior of middle school students.Self-consistency and congruence is the key to an individual’s mental health. Not only in internal coordination and consistency, but also in the integration of the individual and the external environment. This integration not only makes the individual’s emotions more stable, but also promotes the individual’s physical and mental development to thereby achieve the goal of healthy growth. This study introduces mindfulness and self-consistency and congruence as two important variables, aiming to explore the relationship and influencing mechanisms between mindfulness,self-consistency and congruence, and psychological well-being.It also proposes effective intervention plans and suggestions to improve the level of mindfulness,self-consistency and congruence, and psychological well-being of high school students,in order to provide strong theoretical support and practical guidance for school mental health education. This study is mainly divided into two parts:The first part is the relationship survey study, selecting high school students from cities in Guangdong,Shaanxi and other provinces as the research subjects. The "Mindful Attention Awareness Scale(MAAS)","Self Consistency and Congruence Scale(SCCS)",and "Psychological Well-Being Scale" were used to investigate the current situation of high school students’ mindfulness,self-consistency and congruence, and psychological well-being,as well as the relationship between the them.Examining whether self-consistency and congruence can serve as a mediating factor between mindfulness and psychological well-being.The second part is the group counseling research.Based on relevant theories and the results of the first part of the survey,a group counseling intervention plan was developed based on mindfulness training intervention.28 students with strong willingness to participate were recruited as participants, divided into an experimental group(14 people)and a control group(14 people). The experimental group received mindfulness training group assistance intervention and conducted pre and post questionnaire tests. The control group received no intervention and underwent pre and post questionnaire tests. After conducting relationship research and group counseling research, the following conclusions have been drawn:(1)The overall level of mindfulness,self-consistency and congruence and psychological well-being of high school students is above average.(2)There are significant differences in mindfulness among high school students in terms of gender, place of origin, whether they are only children, whether they have left behind children, whether the family atmosphere is harmonious, and family status, but there are no significant differences in grade, whether they serve as class leaders, and whether they live on campus. There are significant differences in self-consistency and congruence among high school students in terms of gender, grade, whether they are an only child, whether they live on campus, whether they have left behind children, whether the family atmosphere is harmonious, and family status, but there is no significant difference in the place of origin and whether they serve as class leaders. There are significant differences in the psychological well-being of high school students in terms of grade, place of origin, whether they are only children, whether they serve as class leaders, whether they have experience with left behind children, whether the family atmosphere is harmonious, and family status, but there is no significant difference in gender or whether they live on campus.(3)Mindfulness negatively predicts self-consistency and congruence among high school students.Mindfulness postively predicts psychological well-being among high school students. There is a significant negative correlation between self-consistency and congruence and psychological well-being of high school students,in which the disharmony between self and experience and the flexibility of self negatively predict psychological well-being.The score of each dimension of self-consistency and congruence and the total score is inversely proportional to the level of self-consistency and congruence, that is,the higher the level of mindfulness of high school students, the higher the level of self-consistency and congruence;Similarly, the higher the self-consistency and congruence level of high school students, the higher their psychological well-being level.(4)Self-consistency and congruence partially mediates the relationship between mindfulness and psychological well-being in high school students.(5)Through group assisted intervention through mindfulness training, high school students can improve their mindfulness level, promote self-consistency and congruence, and thus enhance their psychological well-being.Based on the above research results, this study proposes the following educational strategies to improve the level of mindfulness,self-consistency and congruence, and psychological well-being of high school students:From the individual level, students should establish and cultivate a sense of mindfulness and consciously focus on their current learning and life.At the same time, learn to accept oneself and view the world from a current perspective. From the perspective of family education, parents should strive to create a harmonious family environment and provide care, companionship, and support to their children. At the same time, try in the method of’mindfulness cultivation’ to pay attention to the child’s inner world. From the perspective of school education, schools should timely carry out mindfulness training courses and group support activities, and continue to pay attention to students’ mental health development which guides them to realize their potential development.
