High school is an important period for the cultivation of teenagers' interpersonal communication, social adaptation,self-adjustment and other abilities as well as a period of frequent psychological problems. It is an important part of the daily work of psychology teachers to pay attention to the mental health status of high school students and explore the operation methods that can effectively improve the mental health level of high school students in practice.Contrary to the traditional view that the absence of mental illness largely represents an individual's mental health, the dual-factor model of mental health advocates to examine an individual's mental health level from both positive mental health state and negative mental health state.Mindfulness training originated from Meditation practice in Buddhism, which can regulate individual emotions, improve individual cognition and enhance mental health. At present, the application of the dual-factor mental health model in high school students in China is still relatively rare. And no researchers have developed an intervention program based on this model that can effectively improve the mental health level of high school students. In this study,899 students from a high school in Wuhan city were selected as the research sample to conduct a large sample survey to investigate the level of mindfulness, life satisfaction and depression of high school students.Students were divided into four groups with different levels of mental health, based on levels of life satisfaction(on a scale of 4)and depression(on a scale of 90 percentiles). On this basis, the susceptible group and the symptomatic but satisfied group were screened and interviewed, and a total of 23 subjects were finally determined to participate in the intervention study.Participants were randomly divided into an experimental group(12 persons)and a control group(11 persons). The experimental group received eight weeks of mindfulness group training, and the control group received eight weeks of psychological adaptation group training, both once a week, each time for 50 minutes. After the eight-week training, the changes of the mindfulness level and mental health level of the two groups were investigated, and the collected data were input into SPSS20.0 for analysis. The following results were obtained:(1)According to the "four-point method" of the dual-factor model of mental health, the object of this study--the overall mental health level of students in a Wuhan high school is not optimistic, and the non-"complete mental health" group accounts for 38.9%of the total number of students.(2)There is a significant positive correlation between high school students'mindfulness level and life satisfaction, and a significant negative correlation between mindfulness level and depression. There is a significant negative correlation between life satisfaction and depression.(3)In the experimental group, the overall level of mindfulness and life satisfaction were significantly increased, and the level of depression was significantly reduced. In the control group, the life satisfaction level was significantly improved before and after the intervention, but there was no significant difference between the general level of mindfulness and the level of depression.Based on the above results, the mindfulness group training in this study is effective in improving the level of mindfulness and life satisfaction, reducing depression, and thus improving mental health in high school students of the susceptible group and the symptomatic but satisfied group, which can provide operational reference for future intervention studies.
