Study On The Impact Of Digital Development Of Commerce And Distribution Industry On The Income Level Of Industry Employees

Comprehensively promoting the digital transformation of industries is not only an important part of the 14 th Five-Year Plan,but also a guide for the development of all industries in China.To further develop China’s economy,it is necessary to give full play to the innovative and leading role of the digital economy and its core industries,and to pay more attention to the efficient integration of digital technology with traditional industries.In particular,the commerce and distribution industry,which plays a fundamental industrial role in promoting a virtuous economic cycle,needs to accelerate the introduction of digital technology and realize the digital development of the commerce and distribution industry.Although the digital development of commerce and distribution industry is manifested as the penetration of digital technology to commerce and distribution industry,further from the perspective of industry association,it is manifested as the close integration between commerce and distribution industry and digital economy industry in terms of factor input,technology application and output service,which is essentially the integration and penetration of commerce and distribution industry and digital economy industry.The sustainability of industry integration depends not only on whether the digital economy industry can improve the technological progress and efficiency of the industry through digital equipment and technology inputs,but also on whether the personal benefits or income levels of industry employees can be improved in the context of the industry’s digital development.With the rapid development of the digital economy,what is the status of the digital development of the trade and distribution industry,which reflects the deep integration of the digital economy and the trade and distribution industry? Can the digital development of the trade and distribution industry,like the general industry integration,lead to an increase in the income level of industry employees,and what is the extent of its impact? It is necessary to clarify the mechanism of the impact of digitalization on the income level of industry employees.To this end,this thesis firstly explores two mechanisms of influence of digital development of trade circulation industry on the income level of industry employees,namely,direct influence mechanism and indirect influence mechanism,based on combing relevant literature and theories.Secondly,the degree of digital development in China’s trade circulation industry is measured from an input-output perspective.Then,the DEA-Malmquist accounting method was chosen to measure the total factor productivity growth rate of the trade circulation industry.Finally,the two impact paths are verified by constructing a mediating effect model and with the help of sobel test,and the differential impact of the degree of integration between commerce and distribution industry and digital economy industry segments on the income level of industry employees is discussed.This thesis finally obtains the following conclusions:(1)The digitalization of commerce and distribution industry has both direct and indirect effect mechanisms on the income level of industry employees.The direct effect of digital development of commerce and distribution industry on the income level of industry employees is 0.155,and the intermediary effect of influencing the income level of industry employees through technological progress is 0.116,and the intermediary effect accounts for 42.813% of the total effect.This reflects that the digitalization of the trade and distribution industry has an impact on the income level of industry employees,and the indirect effect through technological progress cannot be ignored.(2)Although the digital development of China’s commerce and distribution industry showed a gradual upward trend on the whole from 2003 to 2018,the digital development of China’s commerce and distribution industry is mainly reflected in the mutual integration of commerce and distribution industry with digital industry manufacturing and digital factor-driven industry in terms of the specific degree of integration between commerce and distribution industry and digital economy industry segments.(3)Considering the differences in the degree of integration between the commerce and distribution industry and digital economy industry segments,the study finds that the integration of the commerce and distribution industry with digital industry manufacturing and digital factor-driven industry is more conducive to improving the income level of industry employees,while the integration of the commerce and distribution industry with digital technology application industry and digital product service industry has no direct and significant impact on the income level of industry employees.(4)From the relevant research results,relevant policy recommendations are proposed: create a favorable digital development environment to accelerate the digital development of the trade circulation industry;vigorously introduce digital and other advanced technologies to promote the technological progress of the trade circulation industry;promote the deep integration of the trade circulation industry with the digital industry manufacturing industry and the digital factor-driven industry;and build a perfect information service platform for the trade circulation industry.
