Reading is an important means of individual learning and progress of human beings,and mathematics reading is also an important way to develop students’ autonomous learning ability and improve their comprehensive quality in mathematics.However,in the actual teaching of high school,the performance of high school students in math reading is often unsatisfactory.Textbooks,as the most popular reading materials available to all high school students,are rarely read thoroughly and carefully.Therefore,the research questions are determined as follows: What is the attitude of senior One students to math reading,the difficulties in math reading and the use of math textbooks? What kind of teaching model can be used in daily teaching to make good use of math textbooks and effectively cultivate students’ math reading ability?This study investigated the mathematics reading and textbook utilization of senior one students in a school in Hanzhong,found that the vast majority of students are at the request of the teacher reading textbooks,and often only focus on the reading materials on the content of the summary,is rough,passive,most of the students agree with mathematics reading of mathematical learning will have a positive effect,However,in math reading,they are afraid,easy to give up,and more inclined to listen to the teacher’s explanation than to read actively.The difficulties in mathematics reading mainly include: it is difficult to extract effective information,difficult to understand new concepts,unable to find the connection between mathematical knowledge,unable to transform the actual model into mathematical problems,unable to deal with complex data information,etc.According to the survey results and relevant theories,the daily mathematics teaching mode is improved,and a teaching mode is designed to improve the math reading ability of senior one students.The teaching mode mainly includes five links: "preview-create reading situation-exchange and cooperation-summary and reflection-extended reading".Compared with traditional teaching,the created situation emphasizes reading services for students and provides students with as many reading opportunities as possible both inside and outside the classroom.In teaching,students’ main position is emphasized,and students’ self-reading,communication and cooperation.At the same time,teachers should guide properly to ensure the normal teaching.Finally,two classes of the same type were selected as the experimental class and the control class for teaching practice.The experimental class applied the teaching mode to carry out teaching,and the control class adopted the daily teaching mode to complete the teaching of Inequality chapter simultaneously.Through the analysis and comparison of the test scores and interview results of the two classes before and after the teaching practice,it is proved that this teaching model can improve the students’ mathematical reading ability effectively. |
