A Comparative Study On The New And Old Textbooks Of High School Biology Based On Core Literacy

The basic work of teachers in teaching research and classroom teaching is to analyze teaching materials.Based on the practical problems in high school education in my country,front-line teachers lack the corresponding time,energy and resources to compare and analyze the content and connotation of different versions of textbooks.At the same time,it is also difficult to think deeply about the reasons for the change of textbooks,let alone the further implementation of core competencies.Therefore,the analysis of the content of the textbook is particularly important.In the past two years,my country has just carried out the revision of the PPE version of the textbooks.The difference between the old and new textbooks and the reasons for the changes are worthy of our study.Based on the above problems,the author chose to compare and analyze some of the contents in the 2019 of the People’s Education Edition Biology Compulsory 1(hereinafter referred to as the new textbook)and the 2007 edition of the Biology Compulsory 1(hereinafter referred to as the old textbook).The research mainly includes: the structure arrangement,content change,column setting,illustration selection and after-school exercises arrangement of old and new textbooks;and further selected Chapter 1 "Approaching Cells" and Chapter 3 "Basic Structure of Cells" in the compulsory 1 textbook.” and Chapter 5,“Energy Supply and Utilization of Cells”,as the representative,in-depth study of the embodiment of high school biology core literacy.I hope to provide some ideas and suggestions for the use of new teaching materials and the teaching of front-line teachers.Through comparative research,the author found that the old and new textbooks are generally consistent,but there are differences in the following aspects.First of all,from the overall point of view,the new teaching materials are aimed at developing the core literacy of students.For example,in terms of knowledge content,there is not much change,but the new textbook adds more knowledge links about core knowledge points,and at the same time fine-tunes the arrangement of the original knowledge in the old textbook,so as to be more in line with the cognitive laws of students.Judging from the guide content of each chapter,the content of pictures in the new textbook chapters is more novel and more in line with cutting-edge knowledge.While paying attention to the introduction of basic content,it also emphasizes the display of core literacy.Different chapters have different emphasis and strong levels.and contact.Judging from the setting of the textbook columns,the new textbook basically retains the original column settings,deletes some experiments and activities with weak operability,and adds activities that are more feasible and more in line with relevant knowledge.From the point of view of the image system,considering the content of Compulsory Course 1 itself,which is biased towards the microscopic system,the new textbook has strengthened the display of the structural model,made it clearer and more accurate,and strengthened the understanding of the concept of life.At the same time,the relevant images of foreign countries are greatly reduced,and the corresponding images of technological breakthroughs and biological development in my country are increased,so as to enhance students’ national pride and enhance social responsibility.Judging from the selection of after-school exercises,the topics in the new textbook are few and precise,but the number of open-ended discussion questions has increased significantly,emphasizing on consulting relevant materials,combining the knowledge learned,solving related problems,and higher requirements for ability training,strengthening students’ scientific Inquiry ability.From the perspective of the penetration of core literacy,the new textbooks are better reflected in each section,and the depth and breadth and focus of the new textbooks are better than those of the old textbooks.In general,compared with the old textbooks,the new textbooks retain the essence while adding more details that are in line with the development of the times and core literacy,which are more instructive to students’ learning and reflect the people-oriented educational philosophy.At the same time,on the basis of focusing on the cultivation of students’ experimental ability,the research ability and the ability to solve social problems have been further improved.A series of adjustments to the new teaching materials have further improved the operability of the course.If front-line teachers can deepen their understanding of the new textbooks and use them from a higher perspective,they can further improve classroom efficiency,enhance students’ abilities,and improve and implement core competencies in teaching.
