Textbooks are direct tools used by teachers in the classroom and a bridge between teachers and students.The textbooks of various subjects in senior high schools are constantly developing and changing with the reform of basic education.The reform of textbooks is an important aspect of the new curriculum reform.The new curriculum standards require the cultivation of students' core literacy.Based on the curriculum standards published in 2017,People's Education Publishing House has successively published new general high school biology textbooks since 2019.Compared with the general high school biology curriculum standard experimental textbook(2007 version),the new textbooks have made major changes.The province and city where the author is located has not yet begun to use the new textbooks,but the discussion on the use of new textbooks is increasing.The module of "Steady State and Environment" is the most changed part of the textbook.The compulsory 3 in the old textbook has been split into two new textbooks,optional compulsory 1 "Steady State and Regulation" and optional compulsory 2 "Biology and Environment".Based on the needs of basic education reform and the importance of curriculum standards,textbooks,and the "Steady State and Environment" module,it is of great significance to study the changes in new textbooks and their teaching requirements from the perspective of core literacy.This article takes the PEP version of the high school "Biology" compulsory 3textbook(2007 version),the 2019 version of elective 1 new textbook and elective 2 new textbook as the research objects.Based on the theories such as cognitivism and constructivism,the methods of comparative analysis and textbooks analysis were used to compare the layout structure,knowledge system,teaching columns,illustrations and after-school exercises of the new and old textbooks,from the core literacy and textbook concepts.The study can help first-line biology teachers quickly master the new textbook knowledge and structural framework to reduce the difficulty of lesson preparation.Compared to the old textbook,the new textbooks have the following characteristics:(1)Creating a real situation and paying attention to context penetration;(2)the content is rich and novel,focusing on the times;(3)Beautiful layout design,focusing on the combination of graphics and text.The author also found that the new textbooks permeate the core literacy concept everywhere,which conforms to the requirements of the curriculum standards,and help to promote the development of students' core literacy.Based on the differences between the old and the new textbooks,it is suggested that teachers should pay attention to the following aspects when using the new textbooks:(1)With the aim of "core literacy",carefully study the curriculum standards;(2)Depth analysis of teaching materials,the practical implementation of the four dimensions of cultivation;(3)Refer to university textbooks to understand the frontiers of the development of biology;(4)Simplify complex knowledge by connecting phenomena of life;(5)Make full use of teaching columns and attach importance to practical teaching.The above suggestions are expected to provide a certain reference for front-line biology teaching,help biology teachers to further understand the meaning of core literacy,adhere to the teaching concept of not being divorced from the curriculum standard,and truly implement the basic requirements of the new curriculum standard in teaching,so as to promote the formation of students' core literacy of the subject.
