Peer interaction plays an important role in children ’s growth. It is an important source to meet their social needs, social support, security and sense of belonging.Due to resource constraints, children from low-income families are prone to frustration in the interpersonal field, forming a low sense of interpersonal efficacy, which in turn affects their interpersonal behavior and is not conducive to the growth and development of children.Under the new form of economic development,China’s policy on the protection of the rights and interests of children in distress has changed from "survival" protection to "developmental" protection. It emphasizes the need to protect the participation rights of economically disadvantaged children in the process of growing up and socializing with peers,to promote good interaction between them and the environment. It advocates social work and other organizations to pay attention to the limited potential of economically disadvantaged children, and enhance their subjective efficacy in the field of interpersonal communication.Based on the reality and policy background, the author relies on the social work station of W town to carry out the group work of improving the interpersonal efficacy of children from low-income families, aiming at improving the interpersonal efficacy of children from low-income families and developing their ability and confidence in the field of peer interpersonal communication. This study takes children from low-income families in S community of W town as the research object, collects data by means of questionnaires and interviews, and analyzes the current situation of interpersonal efficacy of 24 children from low-income families. It is found that the overall level of interpersonal efficacy of children from low-income families in this community is low, which is manifested in five aspects:the negative tendency of self-evaluation,the weak efficacy of expression ability, the single orientation of communication strategy, the passive tendency of communication coping posture and the withdrawal inertia in the context of communication frustration.Based on this, the author recruited 6 team members in the survey of children from low-income families.According to their needs in three aspects:personal cognition, interpersonal skills and strategies, and environmental support, the interpersonal efficacy group intervention model was constructed.Under the guidance of the theory of empowerment, the model improves the five aspects of interpersonal efficacy problems from the individual, interpersonal communication and environmental levels, and solves different problems at different levels. Finally,by enhancing self-identity,improving interpersonal skills and strategies, and obtaining multi-environmental support, the interpersonal efficacy is enhanced. This study takes the whole process of the group as the research object, combines the two perspectives of ’reflection in action ’and’ reflection on action’,evaluates the process and effect of the group, and tests the effectiveness of the interpersonal efficacy group intervention model from the perspective of empowerment, and summarize the group intervention path. Finally, the author discusses the shortcomings and experience in this practical work, and gives practical suggestions for multiple systems to work together to improve the interpersonal efficacy of children in low-income families.
