Education is the great plan of the country and the Party, and high school ideological and political courses are the key courses to implement the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating people. In 2020,the Ministry of Education issued the "2017 Edition(Revised 2020 Edition)of the Standards for Ideological and Political Courses in Ordinary High Schools",which clearly stated that high school ideological and political courses should be based on social practice activities, and in the process of guiding students to cooperate independently, cultivate the core literacy of high school ideological and political disciplines.Project based teaching relies on real life problems, based on students’ growth needs and characteristics.By setting driven project themes,it guides students to establish project teams for independent collaborative exploration and practical learning, and displays and evaluates project results. The project-based design, management, and evaluation methods can provide new ideas, methods, and carriers for the cultivation of core competencies in high school ideological and political disciplines.High school ideological and political courses are the main battlefield for cultivating the core competencies of high school ideological and political disciplines, and also the main carrier for project-based teaching. This article focuses on project-based teaching of high school ideological and political courses, and selects teachers and students from high schools in different provinces and cities to conduct questionnaire surveys.Survey data shows that the vast majority of teachers and students have a strong willingness to reform project-based teaching in high school ideological and political courses, and the trend of project-based teaching becoming a new path to implement the core competencies of high school ideological and political disciplines is obvious. At the same time,as a new teaching method, there are also problems in practical operation, such as a gap between willingness to participate and actual ability, and ineffective implementation of core competencies. This is not only due to the objective reasons why new teaching methods need to be gradually improved in exploration and practice, but also due to factors such as the external education environment and related supporting guarantee mechanisms not being sound enough for linkage. The main reason is that the leading role of teachers and the subjective role of students are not fully played. As the leader of project-based teaching in high school ideological and political courses, ideological and political course teachers should always be guided by the core competencies of the high school ideological and political discipline.Based on a systematic grasp of teaching content and combining the cognitive foundation and characteristics of high school students, they should scientifically design project goals, project themes, project links, and project evaluations. At the same time, during the project operation process,it is necessary to track and guide the entire process, effectively manage the project team, and enhance students’ cooperation ability. It is necessary to build a learning framework to enhance students’ independent exploration ability.Based on the new characteristics and requirements of new teaching methods, teachers should actively participate in specialized training to improve their comprehensive literacy. At the same time, they should make good use of "big ideological and political courses",organically combine school "small classrooms",social "big classrooms",and online "cloud classrooms",and build a resource support mechanism for project-based teaching.
