In recent years,the sleep quality of students has been paid more and more attention by the state and society.Among them,the sleep quality of senior high school students is the most serious among the students.High school is a critical period of learning.With heavy learning tasks and the pressure of entering a higher school,they are more prone to lack of sleep and poor sleep quality.When high school students have sleep problems,if they ignore the solution of their sleep problems and do not take relevant actions in time,the students’ daily learning state is likely to be affected to varying degrees,and will also have adverse consequences for their future life.The study found that there are many factors affecting sleep quality.In addition to external factors such as negative life events and academic pressure,internal factors such as emotion and cognition also have an important impact on sleep quality.As one of the internal factors affecting sleep quality,the relationship between rumination and sleep quality is not clear,which needs further research and analysis.According to the theory of emotion regulation,self compassion can buffer the negative impact of negative cognition on sleep quality by changing cognition.To sum up,based on the investigation of the current situation of sleep quality of senior high school students,this study further studies and defines the relationship between rumination thinking and sleep quality,explores the mechanism between rumination thinking and sleep quality,and looks for ways and methods to improve the sleep quality of senior high school students.In this particular study,a total number of 1222 high school students in both Nanning and Fangchenggang were tested with rumination thinking scale(RRS),self compassion scale(SCS)and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index questionnaire(PSQI).The following results were obtained:(1)The detection rate of sleep problems in senior high school students is 35.4%.Which means that a large number of senior high school students suffers from sleeping problems,and their sleep quality is not optimistic.(2)Rumination,self pity and sleep quality of senior high school students were significantly correlated.Ruminant thinking was positively correlated with sleep quality;Self compassion was negatively correlated with rumination thinking and sleep quality.(3)Senior high school students’ self compassion level plays a partial intermediary role between rumination thinking and sleep quality,accounting for 28.5%,indicating that rumination thinking can affect sleep quality through self compassion.Conclusion: there is a pairwise correlation between rumination thinking,sleep quality and self compassion.Self compassion plays a partial mediating role between rumination thinking and sleep quality for senior high school students.Suggestions:(1)Reasonably arrange students’ daily tasks to ensure students’ sleep time.(2)Guide students to learn reasonable ways of emotion regulation and reduce the frequency of rumination.(3)Carry out self compassion training to improve the self compassion level of senior high school students.
