| Objective: To investigate the overall situation of physical activity, sleep quality and BMI among high school students in Shanghai;to investigate the relationship between physical activity, sleep quality and BMI among high school students;and to test whether BMI plays a intermediary role in the relationship between physical activity and sleep quality.Method: This paper adopts the literature method, questionnaire survey and mathematical statistics method, sampling method of Shanghai for the survey object, including the city experimental demonstration school, city characteristic ordinary schools, area experimental demonstration school and ordinary schools, respectively, shibei middle school and jiang middle school, xuhui, city east middle school, minhang district experimental senior high school and city south middle school.Taking the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Scale and the International Physical Activity Questionnaire(long scroll)as the survey tools,a total of 1286 questionnaires were collected,and1197 questionnaires were recorded.Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS26.0 software.Descriptive statistics of sleep quality, physical activity, physical activity and BMI were used respectively.Result:(1)In terms of physical activity, the total average physical activity was1986.07MET-mins/week,and the proportion of students with active, suitable and insufficient physical activity grades were 31.66%,33.67% and 34.67%,respectively.There were differences between different gender(P <0.01)and different grades(P<0.01);In terms of sleep quality,The total mean score was 5.65 points,The proportion of students with good, medium and poor sleep quality was 9.78%,68.67%and 21.55% in different gender(P <0.05),different grades(P <0.01)and different household types(P <0.01);In terms of BMI,The overall mean value was 22.60,Low body weight, normal, overweight and obese were 6.43%,69.84%,15.46% and 8.27%,respectively,Only by gender(P <0.01).(2)There were differences in sleep quality among high school students with different physical activities(P <0.05),between physical activity(P <0.01)and between different BMI levels(P <0.01).(3)The correlation coefficient between physical activity and sleep quality was-0.104(P <0.01);the correlation coefficient between physical activity and BMI was-0.114(P<0.01);and the correlation coefficient between sleep quality and BMI was 0.163(P<0.01).(4)The 95% confidence interval for the mediation effect of BMI between physical activity and sleep quality [-0.037,-0.044] contains not 0,the mediation effect size is-0.022,the total effect value is-0.136,16.18% of the total effect, and the proportion of direct effect was 83.82%.Conclusion:(1)In physical activity, boys have higher physical activity than girls;junior students have higher physical activity than seniors;in sleep quality: boys sleep quality is better than girls;younger students have better sleep quality than seniors;in BMI,boys have higher BMI than girls.BMI(2)In terms of sleep quality of different physical activities, active and suitable students had better sleep quality than insufficient students, and high school students with different BMI levels had lower weight and normal students than overweight and obese students in physical activity. The difference in sleep quality among high school students by BMI level was higher in low-weight and normal students than in overweight and obese students.(3)Physical activity was negatively correlated with sleep quality scores and BMI values, and sleep quality scores were positively correlated with BMI values.(4)BMI plays a partial role between physical activity and sleep quality, namely physical activity can directly affect sleep quality or indirectly through BMI. |
