The transition from kindergarten to primary school is an important milestone in children’s study and life.Scientific preparation for school is the guarantee for children to successfully go through the transition from infancy to infancy. At the end of March 2021,the Ministry of Education issued the Guiding Opinions on Vigorously Promoting the Scientific Connection between Kindergartens and Primary Schools, which put forward guidance points for kindergartens and primary schools respectively, and divided children’s preparation for school into physical and mental preparation, life preparation, social preparation and learning preparation. The level of learning readiness of children before entering primary school not only has an impact on their learning after entering primary school, but also has a very important impact on their future academic development. However, how to evaluate children’s school readiness scientifically and how to improve their school readiness has become a problem that must be faced and urgently solved.Based on the existing literature,it is found that the current assessment of school readiness is lack of assessment tools for learning readiness;Existing school readiness assessment tools lack timeliness and ecological validity.Through the questionnaire survey,it is found that there are several existing assessment tools for school readiness in kindergartens:first, kindergartens have incomplete understanding of school readiness assessment;Second, kindergartens think that school readiness assessment is important, but it has not been carried out in practice;Third, kindergarten teachers’ experience dependence on children’s school readiness;Fourth, kindergarten administrators and teachers lack understanding of assessment tools for school readiness.Based on this, this study focuses on the individual learning readiness of preschool children based on the dynamic system theory and the development of suitability practice, aiming to design tools that can accurately assess the learning readiness of large class children before entering primary school.Starting from the policy document"Educational Guidelines for Kindergarten Readiness",the first level indicators of children’s learning readiness are determined.Through the literature research method, this paper combs the relevant research results of children’s learning readiness, and theoretically constructs a secondary index of learning readiness; The interview method was used to invite front-line kindergarten teachers to explain the second-level indicators at the practical level.ROSTCM6(content mining system software)was used to conduct open coding word segmentation and word frequency analysis on the interview results, and the evaluation points contained in each dimension that could be practically operated and observed were divided. Therefore, the assessment scale of school readiness for 5-6 years old children is constructed, and the corresponding learning ability scenario test questions, evaluation criteria and children activity observation sheet are compiled. After the completion of the design of the assessment tool, combined with the expert consultation method and the trial of the kindergarten teachers, the assessment tool for the preparation of 5-6 years old children for school was modified from both theoretical and practical aspects.Through the initial test project analysis and exploratory factor analysis, the structure and content of the initial assessment scale of school readiness for children aged 5-6 were optimized and deleted. Then, the reliability and validity of the evaluation scale are verified in the formal test to ensure that the evaluation tool has a good rationality and suitability. The result was the Assessment Tool for School Readiness for Children aged 5-6.Finally,the designed Assessment Tool for School Readiness of 5-6-year-old Children is applied in practice, and the growth and progress of a child in learning readiness is recorded in the form of a case,so as to further explore the effectiveness and practicability of the assessment tool.Through the research,it is concluded that the Assessment Tool for School Readiness of 5-6 year old Children designed in this study has good reliability and validity, and can accurately assess the readiness of 5-6 year old children in all aspects of learning before entering primary school, provide the basis for teachers to carry out targeted activities,it is also helpful for teachers to adjust the teaching plan according to the situation of children and record the growth and progress of children from multiple aspects of learning preparation. The final evaluation scale of learning readiness covers 4 first-level dimensions,14 second-level indicators and 35 evaluation points. At present, the evaluation tool is only applied in a small range. It is still worth further exploration whether it needs to expand the application scope and add other dimensions and behavioral indicators to improve the tool. |
