| Vocational education is an important part of the modern national education system and has a special and important position in the implementation of the strategy of developing the country through science and education and the strategy of strengthening the country through talents.As the main training ground for skilled talents,the dropout rate of secondary vocational schools is much higher than that of general high schools.It is not a new problem that students drop out of school,but the phenomenon of secondary vocational students dropping out of school is still getting more and more serious.It is important for secondary vocational school to attract,retain and cultivate students by studying the influencing factors of dropout tendency and clarifying the mechanism of each variable on dropout tendency of secondary vocational students.This paper constructs a model of secondary school students’ tendency to drop out based on the theory of midway dropout and social influence theory,combined with the Tinto model of midway dropout,and explores the factors influencing secondary school students’ tendency to drop out at the individual,school and environmental levels respectively.The individual level includes students’ expectations;the school level includes academic integration,social integration and education quality;the environment level includes parental support,teacher support and social support to investigate their overall influence on secondary school students’ tendency to drop out;then we collected data by distributing questionnaire,used Excel,SPSS26.0 software to statistically analyze the data,and used fs QCA software to conduct the data were then statistically analyzed by distributing questionnaires,and the variables were analyzed with the help of fs QCA software to explore their possible multiple paths.Finally,the triggering mechanism of secondary school students’ tendency to drop out was analyzed to clarify the complex cause-effect relationship that exists.Through the configuration analysis of the dropout tendency of secondary vocational students,the research conclusions of this paper are as follows: First,there is a causal asymmetry in the trigger mechanism of the dropout tendency of secondary vocational students,and there is no corresponding relationship between high dropout tendency and non-high dropout tendency.Simple reverse reasoning cannot be carried out between them.Secondly,in the path of high dropout tendency of secondary vocational students,the lack of social integration,the lack of teacher support and the lack of social support play an important role;in the path of non-high dropout tendency,academic integration,social integration and teacher support are the main factors affecting the retention Willingness is an important factor;while social integration has a more important impact on the high and non-high dropout tendency of secondary vocational students.It should be noted that the above variables do not act alone on the dropout tendency of secondary vocational students,and need to be combined with other variables.The enlightenment for educators is as follows: 1.To build a harmonious campus relationship and soften the rigid management system;2.To clarify students’ learning goals and correct students’ attitudes;3.To build a bridge of home-school cooperation and improve students’ self-confidence. |
