The dropout of secondary vocational school students in China is a hot issue that has long puzzled the development of vocational education,and it is also a hard wound in the development of vocational education.Secondary Vocational school students drop out,directly affect the development of vocational schools,resulting in waste of educational resources,but also a factor affecting social stability.Over the years,China has taken a series of measures to make the vocational education more attractive to students,gradually improving the student financial aid system,and not only implementing a tuition free policy for students enrolled in secondary vocational schools in the province,in addition,students who accept the vocational education are entitled to a certain amount of financial aid,and the state's investment in secondary vocational students has been gradually strengthened from an economic perspective.Why would students leave school in the face of good policy?Through a case study of J Secondary Vocational School Dropout in Gansu Province,based on the qualitative research method of investigation,observation and in-depth interview,this paper takes students as the research object and makes a deep analysis of their performance in school,as well as the different thoughts and attitudes of educators,education recipients and education investors towards school drop-out in the educational practice,analyzing the causes and consequences of the key events of school drop-out,the whereabouts after school drop-out and their future development path,to find out what was hidden in the dropouts.Based on Bourdieu's capital theory,this paper holds that secondary vocational school students live in a specific field,and student dropout is a dynamic and systematic problem,and the family and the school are the secondary vocational school student study and the life most main place,a student chooses to study in the school or to drop out of school,the economic capital,Cultural Capital,family capital and social capital owned by individuals have great influence on their academic achievement.The author applies Pierre Bourdieu's capital theory to analyze the capital situation of the secondary vocational school students,reveals the deep-seated reasons of the secondary vocational school students' dropping out of school,and puts forward the countermeasures to reduce the drop-out of the secondary vocational school students,try to avoid secondary vocational school students drop out of the event.
