| For a long time,special education for youths with serious delinquent behavior has been provided through work-study schools in China.2006 saw the state rename work-study schools as specialized schools.Article 6 of the newly revised Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency states that special education is provided for minors with serious delinquent behavior,and proposes that local people’s governments at or above the county level set up special education steering committees and reasonably set up special schools according to needs.Panzhou City Sunshine School is a work-study school for the education,correction and transformation of minors aged 12 to 17 with delinquency and minor crimes.During my internship,I learned that the parent-child relationship problem of "three voluntary" students in Panzhou Sunshine School is prominent,and the school needs professional help and services from social work to solve this problem.Based on my internship experience,this study selected Little L,a "three voluntary" student at Panzhou Sunshine School,as the case study subject,and conducted a case study on Little L’s family parent-child relationship problems and their causes.Through the research,it was found that Xiao L’s relationship with his father was in a state of alienation;his mother was in a state of entanglement,and his family showed a pathological structure.The parent-child relationship is mainly affected by parenting style,parent-child pathological structure and poor parent-child communication.In this study,a case work approach was used to design a case service strategy for the parent-child relationship problems of the case owner’s family,using structural family therapy theory and dominant perspective theory as guidance.Social workers conducted seven sessions of case work activities to address the parent-child relationship problems of Little L’s family.To address the problems of parent-child pathological structure and parenting style,"sand tray game","actual performance" and "strengths discovery" were conducted to improve the situation.For the poor communication between parents and children,the "20 Rules of Communication" activity is used to improve the communication skills among family members.To address Little L’s bad behavior,we participated in the school’s "education on parenting" activities to improve the situation.Finally,family conventions were used to consolidate the service results.After L’s family members received the services,the parent-child relationship and L’s bad behaviors were transformed and the family structure became resilient.Social work professional intervention is needed in work-study schools,and it can bring innovation and model to the regular education of work-study schools. |
