Mathematical modeling is a bridge between the real world and the mathematical world.Since the new curriculum reform,mathematical modeling from university to high school,and then to the stage of compulsory education,mathematical modeling ability has become the key ability of junior high school students must master.According to the current implementation of Compulsory Education Mathematics Curriculum Standards(2022 edition),primary school mathematics education aims to cultivate students to form the basis of model awareness,and students in the middle school to form the concept of model,mathematical model concept is very important for students’ mathematics learning.Based on this,from the perspective of junior high school students,this paper uses test paper,questionnaire survey,literature method and other methods to discuss and study the concept of mathematical model of junior high school students.This paper mainly explores the problems existing in the mathematical model concept of junior high school students from the perspective of mathematical modeling.Taking the students of grade 7,8 and 9 in A public county middle school A and a township middle school B as the investigation objects,the overall distribution characteristics of the mathematical model concept of junior high school students are systematically analyzed.The differences of model concept in gender,grade,school and self-efficacy and other dimensions are analyzed,and the problems existing in mathematical modeling concept of junior high school students are concluded according to the survey.The research results show that there is no correlation between gender factor and mathematical model concept,but there is a significant difference between grade,school factor and mathematical modeling level.Among them,model testing ability and model hypothesis ability do not have a certain correlation with the differences of counties and towns,but model construction ability,model analysis ability and model solving ability are closely related to the differences of counties and towns.Thirdly,based on the results of questionnaire survey,this paper summarizes the problems existing in the concept of mathematical model,which are mainly reflected in the lack of attention to the concept of mathematical model,the overall level is relatively low,the cultivation of mathematical model concept in a single way and the lack of teachers’ theoretical knowledge.Based on the above research results,this paper puts forward some suggestions and countermeasures.In view of the problem that model concept is not emphasized enough and the overall level is relatively low,this paper proposes that schools should carry out mathematical modeling activities,attach importance to the cultivation of model concept,break through the restrictions of teaching materials,and infiltrate mathematical model concept into daily lectures.Aiming at the problem of single way of cultivating mathematical model concept.This paper proposes that we should innovate the cultivation method of mathematical model concept.Develop cooperative inquiry ability,focus on learning process through real situation creation.Develop cooperative inquiry ability by innovating school-based teaching materials and other methods.In view of the shortage of teachers’ theoretical knowledge,teachers’ theoretical level should be improved,and teachers’ strength should be strengthened through training and optimization of teaching methods.And then realize the overall promotion of mathematical model concept cultivation.
