Reading is an important method of human learning, and it is also a way of communication. Human learning needs reading, mathematics learning also requires mathematics reading. Since the implementation of the basic education curriculum reform around the country, Many experts and scholars have began the research of mathematics reading. The main research of this paper is mathematics reading of junior high school students.This paper adopted the research method of questionnaire, the problem solving test, interview.The author takes the students in three middle schools as the research object, and carries on the questionnaire investigation, the problem solving ability test and the interview.This paper is divided into 5 parts. In the introduction, this paper introduces the background and significance of this paper to readers.In the literature review, I summarize the results of previous studies and the influence factors of mathematics reading.In the third part, the results of the questionnaire were analyzed and studied. Finally, on the basis of the third part, we draw the conclusion of this paper and put forward some suggestions for students.The main conclusions of this study are as follows. First, mathematics reading of junior high school students is worrying. And students lack of interest in mathematics reading, failed to master a good mathematical reading methods. In addition, they don’t have the habit of mathematics reading; second, the ability of junior high school students mathematics reading is weak; third, teachers did not guide the mathematical reading for students. And students do not attach importance to mathematical reading. Although students know the importance of mathematics reading, they don’t read math books.According to the situation of students, this paper puts forward the following tips. First, we need to stimulate and arouse students’ motivation and interest in mathematics;Second, we can build the atmosphere to mathematics reading in the class; Third, through learning from each other, to cultivate students’ability of mathematics language; Finally,teachers can teach students necessary methods of mathematics reading to strengthen the students’ mathematics reading training.At the same time, the full text is interspersed with some suggestions for teachers, parents and society to develop students’ ability to read mathematics.
