Protection Of Children:Research On The Positive Effects Of Parental Education Social Work Services During The Cooling-Off Period Of Divorces

In recent years,the increase in the number of divorces has become a serious social problem,which has attracted more and more attention from the state,society and scholars,especially the impact and injury of family breakdown on children.Relevant researches show that parents’ divorce will cause different degrees of psychological trauma to children,and improper behavior of parents during divorce will lead to psychological and behavioral problems of children.Compared with children from two-parent families,children from single-parent families have gaps in self-identity,self-efficacy,emotional management,social skills and social relations.Parental education theory has been committed to solving children’s problems caused by adverse family environments and negative early experiences.A large number of studies have proved that parental education can have positive effects on psychological health,behavioral problems and social adaptation of children from divorced families.In recent years,China has successively promulgated the Civil Code of the People’s Republic of China,the Law on the Promotion of Family Education and other relevant laws and regulations,which is in order to strengthen the responsibility of family education and protect children from the impact of parental divorce.However,most of the current domestic research work focuses on the factors that lead to the psychological and behavioral problems of adolescents from divorced families,and there is still a lack of intervention experimental research on divorced families.The purpose of this study is to design an evidence-based intervention program of parental education in the cooling-off period of divorce suitable for Chinese families,and test the effect of parental education during cooling-off period through experimental research.Firstly,based on the evidence of effective intervention research abroad and the survey data of189 college students from divorced family and 46 divorced couples,we designed a set of parental education intervention program suitable for Chinese families in the cooling-off period of divorce.Then,using the two-group quasi-experimental design method,the recruited couples in the cooling-off period of divorce were divided into the experimental group(16groups)and the control group(16 groups).Through one-to-one online case service,parental education course intervention was completed within 30 days of the cooling-off period of divorce in the experimental group,with the frequency of 1-2 times a week,a total of 6 times,about 60 minutes each time.Finally,the pre-test and post-test data of the experimental group and the control group were obtained through the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale,Parent-Child Relationship Scale,Emotional Management Scale,Parent-Child Communication Scale,Conflict Scale and Parent Report to test the effect of parental education program in the cooling-off period of divorce.The research results of this dissertation show that:(1)The intervention of parental education in the cooling-off period of divorce has significantly improved the psychological problems of children in cooling-off period of divorce.According to the experimental data,the minor children of families in the cooling-off period of divorce generally experienced depression,anxiety,and social withdrawal before intervention.After the intervention of parental education courses in the cooling-off period of divorce,the level of depression,anxiety and stress of their minor children decreased significantly.We compared the three dimensions of depression,anxiety and stress between the experimental group and the control group before and after the intervention.There was no significant difference in depression,anxiety and stress between the experimental group and the control group before the intervention(depression P=0.50 > 0.05;Anxiety P=0.64 > 0.05;Pressure P=0.32 > 0.05).After the intervention,there was a significant difference in the level of depression(P=0.00<0.05),anxiety and stress(P=0.00<0.05;P=0.00<0.05)between the experimental group and the control group.(2)The differences of the four dimensions of parent-child communication,parent-child relationship,emotional management and marital conflict between the experimental group and the control group before and after the intervention were compared.The data showed that in the experimental group,parent-child communication,parent-child relationship and parents’ emotional management ability were significantly improved,and the level of marital conflict was significantly decreased(emotional management P=0.00<0.05;parent-child communication P=0.00<0.05;parent-child relationship P=0.00<0.05;marital conflict P=0.00<0.05).The results of the experiment once again prove that,the parental education in the cooling-off period of divorce has an important and positive role in promoting the healthy growth of minor children.Based on the findings of the study,it is recommended that marriage registries all over the country promote and implement parental education services during the cooling-off period of divorce in the social work of marriage and family,so as to reduce the possible trauma to the minor children of the families to be divorced,promote family harmony to a certain extent,and reduce the divorce rate.
