| As a team sport,basketball is conducive to the development of the physical and mental quality of the team members,the enhancement of friendship between the team members,and the cultivation of team cooperation and social adaptability of the team members.As the leader of the basketball team,coaches can grasp the development direction of the team.Different leadership behaviors of coaches have different effects on team cohesion.This study tries to explore the relationship between the leadership behavior and team cohesion of the coaches of the senior high school basketball team in Sichuan Province.This study takes the high school basketball players who participated in the second Gongga Cup basketball final in 2022 in Sichuan Province(the middle school basketball game in Sichuan Province)as the object of investigation,and uses the methods of literature,questionnaire,interview,mathematical statistics and other research methods to explore the relationship between the leadership behavior and team cohesion of the coaches of the ordinary high school basketball team in Sichuan Province,and draws the following conclusions:(1)There was no significant difference in the perceived leadership behavior of coaches among basketball players of different genders,ages,training years,playing positions and living areas(p>0.05);The coaches’ leadership behaviors perceived by basketball players of different levels of players were significantly different(p<0.05),and basketball players with higher sports levels perceived more democratic leadership behaviors;There was a significant difference in the perceived democratic leadership behavior of basketball players who joined the team for different time(p<0.05),and basketball players who joined the team for longer time perceived more democratic leadership behavior.(2)There was no significant difference in team cohesion among basketball players of different ages,different training years,different positions on the court,different average playing time of the same court,and different residential areas(p>0.05);There was a significant difference in team cohesion between male and female basketball players(p<0.05);There are significant differences in team cohesion among basketball players of different sports grades,and basketball players with higher sports grades have stronger team cohesion;Basketball players with different training years have significant differences in team cohesion,and basketball players with longer training years have stronger team cohesion;There are significant differences in team cohesion between players who have joined the team for different times.The longer they have joined the team,the stronger the team cohesion.(3)There was a positive correlation between the perceived democratic leadership behavior of men’s basketball players and the dimensions of team cohesion(p<0.05);The autocratic leadership behavior perceived by men’s basketball players was negatively correlated with team cohesion,social cohesion,task cohesion,group social attraction,group task attraction and group task consistency(p<0.05);The democratic leadership behavior perceived by women’s basketball players was positively correlated with the four dimensions of group cohesion and team cohesion(p<0.05);There was no correlation between the autocratic coaches’leadership behavior perceived by women’s basketball players and the dimensions of group cohesion(p>0.05).(4)The democratic leadership behavior perceived by men’s basketball players has a positive impact on group cohesion,social cohesion and task cohesion;The autocratic coach’s leadership behavior perceived by men’s basketball players has a negative impact on group cohesion,social cohesion and task cohesion;The democratic leadership behavior perceived by women’s basketball players has a positive impact on team cohesion,social cohesion and task cohesion.Suggestion:(1)Coaches should teach according to the characteristics of different team members and flexibly change their leadership styles according to their aptitude;(2)Set clear goals for the team,such as academic and competitive performance,to encourage athletes to move in the same direction and enhance team task cohesion;(3)Pay attention to the psychological changes of the players,communicate with the players through interviews and other forms,and fully understand the learning and training life of the players.In addition to providing guidance during training competitions,they should also be given more help in their daily lives.Increase team activities appropriately to create a more relaxed atmosphere,narrow the distance between coaches and athletes,enhance friendship between athletes,and enhance team social cohesion;(4)Develop team code of conduct,including conduct and actions,learning and daily training,to ensure that team members are disciplined and treat every player fairly;(5)Senior and high-level basketball players have a high level of team cohesion,allowing them to participate more in team affairs as much as possible,carrying forward the tradition of "old leading new",and allowing old players to actively help new players solve problems encountered in training,competition,and learning life,so that new players can quickly integrate into the team family. |
