Research On The Relationship Between The Leadership Behavior Of College Basketball Coaches And Team Cohesion

The relationship between coaches and athletes has always been the focus of the research on the organizational behavior of competitive sports,among which the research focuses on the leadership behavior of coaches,the cohesion level of sports teams and the investment degree of athletes in training and competition.The different ways of coaches’ leadership have different effects on athletes’ training efficiency,and the formation of group psychological atmosphere is different.Athletes receiving support,motivation and effective guidance as well as good training and competition experience can promote them to produce positive emotional experience.As the main body of sports training,athletes’ active participation in training and competition is the necessary condition to ensure the quality of training and competition and improve the performance of training and competition.This study takes coaches’ leadership behavior,team cohesion,and athletes’ involvement in sports as the research content variables,and uses relevant scales to test high-level college basketball players in Guangdong Province.This paper systematically analyzes the influence of coaches’ leadership behavior and sports investment on team cohesion,explores the relationship between them,and verifies whether sports investment plays a mediating role between coaches’ leadership behavior and team cohesion.In order to improve the coaching ability of coaches,promote the cooperation between athletes and coaches,and improve the performance of training and competition.The main research conclusions are as follows:1.According to the investigation of high-level college basketball coaches and athletes in Guangdong Province,it is found that the leading behavior of college basketball coaches in Guangdong Province is mainly democratic leadership behavior,and the team cohesion level of athletes and the sports investment level of athletes are good(high).2.There are significant differences in basketball coaches’ leadership behavior,team cohesion and sports investment among college basketball players of different genders,grades,sports levels and years of sports.There is no significant difference in basketball coach leadership behavior among basketball players with different court positions,but there is significant difference in team cohesion and sports investment.3.The training and teaching behavior,democratic behavior,social support behavior and reward behavior of college basketball coaches have a significant positive correlation with sports input and team cohesion;There is a significant negative correlation between coaches’ autocratic behavior and sports involvement and team cohesion.There is a significant positive correlation between sports investment and team cohesion.4.Athletes’ involvement in sports plays an important role in coaches’ training and teaching behavior,democratic behavior,autocratic behavior,social support behavior,reward behavior and team cohesion level.5.The training and teaching behavior,democratic behavior,social support behavior and reward behavior of college basketball coaches have a significant positive predictive effect on sports input and team cohesion;The autocratic behavior of coaches has a significant negative predictive effect on sports engagement and team cohesion.Sports investment has a significant positive predictive effect on team cohesion.
