In April 2022,the Ministry of Education issued the compulsory education labor curriculum standards and required schools to officially implement the standards in the fall of that year.With the new policy in place,it is worth exploring how schools can implement labor courses effectively.This study used interview and questionnaire survey methods to investigate the implementation status of the labor curriculum at S Elementary School in Chengdu,summarized the existing problems,analyzed the causes of the problems,and proposed problem-solving strategies.The first part is the introduction,which mainly includes the reasons for the topic selection,literature review,concept definition,research objectives and significance,and other related contents.The second part summarizes the current status of labor course implementation at S Primary School.The study used interviews and questionnaires to investigate the school’s understanding of the course implementation and the situation in terms of course content,format,evaluation,and management.The study found that the main problems in implementing labor courses at S Primary School include insufficient understanding of the courses,inadequate course content,limited course formats,non-standard course evaluations,and inadequate course management.The third part analyzed the reasons for the problems in implementing labor courses at S Primary School,including the influence of exam-oriented education,insufficient professionalism of teachers,the complexity of labor courses,and limited conditions for implementing labor courses.The fourth part proposed strategies for optimizing the implementation of labor courses in urban primary schools.These strategies include establishing a comprehensive development education concept,strengthening the construction of labor education teacher teams,developing course resources collaboratively between families,schools and society,and standardizing the development of labor courses in schools.The factors influencing the implementation of labor courses in urban primary schools are complex,and different schools have their own unique challenges.The sample size in this study was relatively limited,and further exploration is needed to fully understand the problems and their underlying causes.
