Study On The Influence And Heterogeneity Of Population Mobility And Economic Growth In The Shuangcheng Economic Circle In Chengdu-Chongqing Region

As one of the four major economic circles in China,the Chengdu Chongqing Shuangcheng Economic Circle plays a pivotal role in China’s economic development.In the future,the Chengdu Chongqing Shuangcheng Economic Circle will become another important growth pole in western China.Population mobility and economic growth are an important link in the study of the dual city economic circle in Chengdu-Chongqing region.There is an inseparable relationship between population and economy.Under the background of population flow becoming the norm in Chengdu-Chongqing region,how to base on the basic national conditions of economic growth and development in China and Chengdu-Chongqing region is a topic worthy of in-depth study by the whole society.Therefore,this article will reveal the impact and heterogeneity of population flow and economic growth in the dual urban economic circle of Chengdu-Chongqing region from the perspective of the relationship between population flow and economic growth,This is of great importance for the study of the construction and economic development of the Chengdu Chongqing Shuangcheng Economic Circle.The data in this article are sourced from databases such as the Chongqing Statistical Yearbook and the Sichuan Statistical Yearbook.Based on the planning scope of the latest "Chengdu Chongqing Shuangcheng Economic Circle Planning Outline" document,panel data from 2013 to 2019 are selected for research.Firstly,Arcgis is used to draw a distribution map of population flow and economic growth in the Chengdu-Chongqing Shuangcheng Economic Circle.By comparing the map,it can be found that both population flow and economic growth in the Chengdu-Chongqing Shuangcheng Economic Circle have significantly changed from 2013 to 2019,and the total population outflow of each city has also changed.Continuing to use the OLS model to conduct regression analysis on the panel data of population flow and economic growth in 16 cities within the Chengdu Chongqing Shuangcheng Economic Circle,it can be concluded that:(1)In 2013 and 2019,the type of population flow in the Chengdu Chongqing Shuangcheng Economic Circle basically did not change,and still dominated by population outflow.In 2013 and 2019,the economic growth showed a trend of bipolar growth between Chengdu and Chongqing.The economic development of cities between Chengdu and Chongqing seriously lagged behind the cities surrounding Chengdu,followed by relatively slow economic development of cities far away from Chongqing and Chengdu,and the outflow of population from cities with relatively lagging economic growth was also more serious.(2)Population inflow has a significant positive correlation with economic growth,nwhile weak population outflow has a negative correlation with economic growth,weak population outflow has a significant negative correlation with economic growth,moderate population outflow has a significant negative correlation with economic growth,and the correlation number is larger than the absolute value of the weak outflow coefficient,while strong population outflow has a negative regression coefficient with economic growth,However,compared to the small absolute value of the moderate outflow coefficient of population,it indicates that the strong outflow of population does not have a significant blocking effect on regional economic growth as the moderate outflow does.(3)According to the heterogeneity regression results classified by government investment ratio,it can be found that urban population mobility with low government investment has no significant impact on economic growth,while urban population mobility with high government investment has a more significant impact on economic growth.(4)The results of heterogeneity regression by classification of urbanization rate show that the impact of population outflow on economic growth is more significant in cities with lower urbanization rates;In cities with high urbanization rates,the impact of weak population outflows on economic growth has decreased.Corresponding suggestions are proposed based on the above conclusions:(1)Accelerating industrial upgrading and rational industrial layout.Cities within the Chengdu-Chongqing dual city economic circle should strengthen the links between various cities,help each other,and use Chengdu and Chongqing as two important growth poles to drive the economic development of the surrounding areas.(2)Improve relevant mechanisms to attract population inflow.The immediate first task is to increase population inflow and attract foreign population,especially foreign talents.The government can adopt policies and measures such as talent introduction and registered residence policy;Social measures such as improving urban comfort and strengthening social security;Economic measures such as diversifying industrial structures and increasing employment opportunities.At the same time,the government should strengthen coordination and formulate concrete and feasible measures to jointly promote the economic development of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle.(3)Increase public financial expenditure and urbanization.The government should appropriately adjust the size of public financial expenditure,and formulate public financial expenditure plans that meet its own conditions based on its own development positioning and actual situation.
