Social value orientation is a stable personality trait reflecting individual allocation preferences;sense of power refers to people’s perception of interpersonal dominance and control of such influence,a subjective feeling;sense of responsibility is a psychological quality in which individuals consciously choose their own goals and are willing to take responsibility for their actions and consequences;cooperative behavior is a kind of perception of others as well as concern for their own needs and interests,emphasizing mutual benefit and co Cooperative behavior is a kind of behavioral activity that emphasizes mutual benefit and win-win situation.Research purpose: To explore the influence of high school students’ social value orientation,sense of power,and sense of responsibility on cooperative behavior,in order to reveal the internal mechanisms that influence high school students’ cooperative behavior.Research methods : This study adopts the questionnaire survey method,using the Public Goods Dilemma Experiment Paradigm,the Social Value Orientation Slider Test,the General Sense of Power Questionnaire,and the Students’ Sense of Personal Responsibility Scale,on a whole-group sample of 565 high school students from one high school in Harbin,Heilongjiang Province and one in Liuzhou,Guangxi.Research results:(1)Males scored higher on social value orientation;freshmen and sophomores scored higher on social value orientation relative to seniors.(2)The sense of power was significantly greater for seniors than for juniors and seniors;the sense of power was significantly greater for students in the upper grades than for those in the middle and lower grades.(3)Males had significantly higher levels of responsibility than females.(4)In the public goods dilemma experiment,males showed significantly more cooperative behavior than females;seniors and juniors showed significantly more cooperative behavior than seniors;and only children showed significantly more cooperative behavior than non-only children.(5)In the public goods dilemma experiment,the direct effect of social value orientation on cooperative behavior was significant,and both simple and chain mediating effects of the level of power and responsibility between social value orientation and cooperative behavior were significant.Research conclusion:The study concludes that social value orientation not only affects the level of sense of power and responsibility of high school students,but also can influence the cooperative behavior of high school students by affecting the level of sense of power and responsibility.Therefore,in order to improve high school students’ cooperative behaviors,both individual students and families and schools should clarify the importance of sense of power and responsibility,the balance between collective and individual,as well as pay attention to the guidance and establishment of pro-social value orientations,and schools and families should implement the cultivation of cooperative practices for high school students.
