The sense of social responsibility is that individual has a strong sense of consciousness and great emotion and will on the social responsibility, and conscious awareness on their social rights and obligations after receives obligations from responsibility giver. Students are the future and the hope of our motherland. They undertook the historical commission of revitalizing our nation and Building a Well-off Society in an All-Round Way, so their sense of social responsibility concerns the development of human beings and the times, and is the driving force of building a harmonious society, and is an important symbol of success of college students. It is an important mission to enhance students'sense of social responsibility for the ideological and political work in university. This article starts from the concept of social responsibility, followed by three aspects of the theoretical source of social responsibility which are the Chinese traditional culture, Western ideological and moral education and Marxist theory on social responsibility. Then it draws the concept of the sense of social responsibility, and put forward the practical significance of enhancing students'sense of social responsibility. On the analysis of current situation of the sense of social responsibility of contemporary college Students, the article not only sees the mainstream of students'sense of social responsibility is positive, but also sees the fact that some of the students lack of the sense of responsibility to the country, lack of the sense of responsibility to family, lack of the sense of public responsibility and lack of the sense of self-responsible. To find the reason, it discusses and analyzes from three point of view which are the social, the education and the individual. It considers that the rapid change of social environment is the external factors of lacking of the sense of social responsibility, education bias is a direct cause leading to lack of the sense of social responsibility, individual characteristics is the internal reason bringing about lacking of the sense of social responsibility. In view of existing situation of students'lacking of the sense of social responsibility, the paper puts forward method and countermeasures to enhance students'sense of social responsibility. Firstly, constructing a trinity of good educational environment which includes social, family and school;secondly, strengthening the education of the sense of social responsibility to students;thirdly, through social practice to strengthen students ' awareness of social responsibility.
