Abstract/Summary:
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC),China’s higher education has moved from an outward-looking development pursued by quantity and scale to a stage of connotative development focusing on high quality.The cultivation of critical thinking for university students is in line with the development requirements of the times,society,and higher education,and can lay a solid foundation for lifelong learning for university students.To adapt to the rapid development of society,university students should not only have professional knowledge,but also can analyze and solve problems.This requires that education should pay attention to the cultivation of critical thinking in university students,so that they can form the habit and ability to think independently.Nowadays,critical thinking has had a wide impact around the world,and many countries have made the cultivation of critical thinking an important part of higher education.China’s research on critical thinking is also in the process of development,but influenced by various factors such as traditional culture,the cultivation of critical thinking among university students has not been given enough attention.Therefore,there is a need to continue to work hard and actively explore the cultivation of critical thinking for university students.This study uses documentary,survey,and interview methods to investigate the current critical thinking of university students.This paper is divided into five parts:the first part is the introduction,which discusses the reasons for the question,the purpose and significance of the study,defines the core concepts of "critical thinking" and "highperformance positive personality",and provides a historical overview of the research on critical thinking.In the second part of the dissertation,the core concepts of "critical thinking" and "high performance positive personality" are defined,and the research on critical thinking is historically reviewed to present a comprehensive understanding of critical thinking.In the second part of the thesis,theoretical perspectives on critical thinking and high efficiency and positive personality education are presented,laying the theoretical foundation for further research.In the third part of the thesis,a questionnaire design and survey are conducted to collate the data collected through a questionnaire survey of university students.In the fourth part of the thesis,the existing problems and causes of critical thinking among university students are analyzed.The problems include the overall weakness of critical thinking among university students,the uneven development of the dimensions and so on.The causes of the problem are the lack of awareness of critical thinking among individual students,the lack of critical thinking among teachers,and the lack of a culture that fosters critical thinking among students at home,school,and society.In the fifth part of the thesis,strategies are proposed for the development of critical thinking at school,teacher,and student levels,considering the current situation of university students from the perspective of high efficiency and positive personality education.
