In the era of new media, every natural disaster event will trigger rapid media dissemination and public opinion fermentation in a short period of time.Mainstream media, considering their stance, methods, and other factors in their reporting, actively construct appropriate reporting frameworks, and then construct and process news based on these frameworks. How online public opinion is influenced by the media reporting framework, spontaneously constructing a theme framework to respond, and how the theme framework of online public opinion, after being fed back to mainstream media, affects the next stage of the reporting framework construction of mainstream media, are important topics worth studying in the field of public opinion guidance. This article takes the thematic framework as the starting point to analyze the phased interaction between mainstream media coverage and online public opinion in natural disaster events. The introduction section elaborates on the research background, significance, content, ideas, and methods,in preparation for the formal development of later research. The first chapter is a literature review that analyzes and summarizes previous research, including research on natural disaster events, media reporting, online public opinion, and the relationship between media reporting and online public opinion.Chapter 2 is the research design, including the research object, data collection and preprocessing,as well as the TF-IDF algorithm topic word analysis method. It introduces the main application calculation programs and processes.Chapter 3 is an analysis of the interaction between mainstream media coverage and online public opinion. The conclusion drawn from the TF-IDF algorithm topic word analysis is to first analyze and summarize the theme frameworks applied by the media and public opinion in the explosive, stalemate, and decay stages, and to elaborate on the overall application of the theme frameworks of both parties. Then analyze the interaction between media and public opinion at each stage, explore the mechanism of phased interaction between mainstream media coverage and online public opinion in natural disaster events, and interpret the advantages and disadvantages of current interaction.Research has found that, overall, mainstream media, after receiving feedback from online public opinion at various stages, will flexibly adjust their reporting theme strategies to guide online public opinion in the next stage of reporting. To some extent, these changes and adjustments have been effective, but there are still omissions and shortcomings that need to be improved.Chapter 4 is the public opinion guidance strategy.Based on the results of the above research, reasonable strategies and suggestions are proposed in stages for the public opinion guidance work in the current mainstream media coverage of natural disaster events.
