| Since the implementation of the "2017 edition of National Curriculum Standards for High School Mathematics",colleagues in the entire mathematics education community have been exploring effective ways to implement mathematical core competencies, and cultivating students’ logical reasoning competencies has become the consensus and hot topic.Logical reasoning competencies,as one of the six core competencies of high school mathematics, are an important way to discover and prove mathematical conclusions and construct the mathematical discipline system. The rigor of mathematics also depends on logical reasoning. At the same time, high school students are at an important stage of formal development of logical reasoning.Improving their logical reasoning competencies can help them systematically deal with various tasks, strengthen their exploratory spirit and creativity.Currently, what is the situation of logical reasoning competencies in frontline teaching;what improvements can be made in teacher teaching;what is the current level of logical reasoning competencies among Senior One students;how to scientifically and objectively evaluate their logical reasoning level;what are the effective strategies to cultivate their logical reasoning competencies, etc.,all of these issues need to be answered and solved. This study uses literature analysis and survey methods to comb through relevant research on logical reasoning competencies, and takes four classes of high school students from a county in central China as study objects.According to Dr.Lin Yuci’s three-level division of logical reasoning competencies, test questions and questionnaires were compiled, and SPSS and Excel software were used for data processing to analyze the current level of logical reasoning competencies among high school students. The research results show that:(1)The overall level of logical reasoning competencies among Senior One students is between Level 1 and Level 2,with a significant gap between Level 2;(2)Senior One students do not show clear positive emotions towards logical reasoning;(3)Although students with different preferred subjects do not show significant differences in their emphasis on logical reasoning, they have significant differences in their levels of logical reasoning competencies;(4)The development of logical reasoning competencies among Senior One students is unbalanced, and their skills in analogical reasoning are lower than those in deductive reasoning.Based on the above survey conclusions and teaching practices, corresponding teaching and learning strategies are proposed:(1)Pay attention to Senior One students’ understanding of mathematical knowledge;(2)Design mathematics curriculum teaching based on logical reasoning competencies;(3)Combine deductive reasoning with abductive reasoning to cultivate Senior One students’ logical reasoning competencies;(4)Strengthen communication and cooperation among Senior One students;(5)Mathematical learning based on logical reasoning competencies. |
