Abstract/Summary:
The 2022 "Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education" proposes that for students to better integrate into society and contribute to their future development, they must master the four basics, including basic knowledge, basic skills, basic ideas, and basic practical experience. It can be seen from this that the importance of mathematical thinking is extremely important.Transforming thinking is an important mathematical thought that is beneficial for developing students’ spatial concepts, cultivating their four foundations, developing their thinking, improving their problem-solving abilities, and promoting the transfer of their knowledge. Therefore, research on the teaching of transforming thinking is both necessary and important.Taking the Jiangsu Education Press textbook as an example, the paper first uses literature review to determine the relevant core concepts, the theoretical basis of transformation thinking, the application principles of transformation thinking, and the important significance of transformation thinking.Subsequently,an analysis was conducted on the characteristics of the content of "graphics and geometry" in the senior grade textbooks of elementary school mathematics, and it was found that the textbook content particularly emphasizes the connection between graphics,as well as the emphasis on students’ hands-on exploration ability and the gradual progression of knowledge.Through the survey method, the current teaching situation of transformation thinking in"graphics and geometry" in the upper grades of primary school was investigated. The survey shows that there are problems at the teacher level:insufficient understanding of mathematical thinking and transformation of thinking; The teaching objectives of infiltrating and transforming ideas are not clear; The selection of methods for infiltrating and transforming ideas is not appropriate enough;Failure to summarize and transform ideas in a timely manner after teaching. The problems at the student level include:insufficient understanding of transforming ideas among students;Students lack awareness and methods of transformation.Based on the results of the questionnaire survey and classroom observations,it can be concluded that the reasons for the problems are:teachers and students do not attach enough importance to mathematical thinking, neglecting the significant significance of mathematical thinking for students’development; There are certain difficulties for teachers to penetrate the transformation of ideas;Students’ basic knowledge is not solid;Students have bad learning habits, etc.Based on the survey results,as well as the collection of information and communication with frontline teachers, strategies for optimizing the teaching of transformational thinking have been summarized:firstly, teachers should delve deeply into textbooks and attach importance to transformational thinking;Secondly, teachers should cultivate students’ ability to observe and analyze;Teachers should guide students to clarify the direction of transformation before transformation;Fourthly, teachers should guide students to practice more and achieve transformation;Fifth, teachers should summarize in a timely manner to enhance students’ awareness of transformation;Sixth, teachers should strengthen the training of students’ transformation ability. Finally,by viewing teaching records and reading materials, two typical teaching examples that permeate and transform ideas were selected, and the teaching design was improved based on the five strategies studied in the paper, enabling frontline teachers to gain some teaching inspiration.
