The General High School Physics Curriculum Standard(2017 Edition)puts forward the core literacy of physics,which includes physics concepts,scientific thinking,scientific exploration,and scientific attitudes and responsibilities.Among them,physics concepts is the basis and important carrier of the other three elements and plays an important role in their formation and development.Therefore,integrating the cultivation of physics concepts into the high school physics class so that the cultivation of physics concepts can be implemented is of great significance to the construction of students’ core literacy in physics.In the first part,reading a large amount of literature related to physics concepts to summarize the current background and status of research on the cultivation of physics concepts,and discuss the content,methodology,significance and innovation of this study.In the second part,the concepts related to the cultivation of physics concepts are sorted out,and “concepts”,“scientific concepts” and “physical concepts” are defined in turn.The third part analyses constructivist theory,cognitive assimilation theory and humanistic learning theory as theoretical foundations to ensure the scientific validity of physics concepts cultivation strategies and teaching practices in the subsequent study.The fourth part maps the core concepts of mechanics in Compulsory 1 and Compulsory2 of the People’s Education Press version of high school physics,and producing a table corresponding to the core concepts of mechanics and physics concepts to establish the foundation for the cultivation of physics concepts.The fifth part investigates the two groups through two pathways: student questionnaire and teacher interview.The results are analyzed by SPSS software to realize the current level of students’ physics concepts and their development through questionnaire.and the interview with teachers was used to understand the current views of front-line teachers on how to develop students’ physics concepts and the difficulties in the implementation process,so as to know the current problems in implementing conceptions of physics.The sixth part proposes a four-step strategy for the cultivation of physics concepts in response to the problems identified: structuring facts to form a system of ideas;integrating ideas to summarize concepts and laws;practicing knowledge to develop a personal style;systematizing cases to develop physics concepts.A new way of assessing the level of physics concepts and a scale for assessing the level of physical concepts are also proposed.In the seventh part,the four-step strategy is applied to the physics teaching and the students’ level of physics concepts is assessed again to verify the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.The eighth section provides a summary and outlook of this study.This study innovatively proposes a four-step strategy for the cultivation of physics concepts;and designs an evaluation scale for the level of physics concepts,and implements the cultivation of physics concepts in all aspects of teaching,which has certain guiding significance for the cultivation of physics concepts in the teaching of high school physics mechanics.
