With the development of international education,students who have the needs and conditions will go abroad to receive undergraduate education,and the proportion of these students studying in the United States is relatively large.The SAT Test(Scholastic Assessment Test),the ACT Test(American College Test),and AP(Advanced Placement Program)tests are influential in selecting outstanding students for universities,evaluating scholarships.However,few schools currently offer these courses,especially the GAC(Global Assessment Certificate)courses that corresponded to the ACT,and the SAT subject courses,so many students can only prepare for the tests through autonomic learning.Besides,there are only a few journal articles available for teachers to refer to for teaching.Therefore,this paper analyzes the test format,the characteristics of the questions,and the depth of knowledge examined by the tests of SATII Physics,ACT Science Reasoning,and AP Physics-C Mechanics with high qualification in the AP Physics curriculum,providing some reference for students' test preparation,teachers' teaching,and innovations of physics curriculum in China.At first,this paper introduces the background,followed by a description of the theoretical foundations and a literature review of the current research on the teaching and testing in these three subject assessments.Next,it provides a basic introduction of the SATII physics test,such as the test format,syllabus,and assessment requirements,based on the study of a large number of previous years' SATII physics questions and simulations,summarizing the features of the questions.Then,it interprets the test format and content of the AP Physics C-Mechanics exam,comparing the depth of knowledge in mechanics tested in AP Physics C-Mechanics and SATII Physics,analyzing and summarizing the characteristics of multiple-choice and free-response questions,additionally the application of calculus in solving variable problems.Futhermore,it introduces the test format and requirements of the ACT Science Reasoning test,and due to its special characteristics,emphasis of the content will interpret three types of questions:interpretation of data,scientific investigation,and the evaluation of models,inferences and results.After that,it summarizes the common problems of students in the preparing process,and proposes targeted solutions and preparation suggestions,puts forward suggestions for learning and teaching these relevant lessons from the perspectives of students and teachers,respectively.Hoping it will help students study these international courses efficiently,and develop independent thinking and problem-solving skills,and have a longer-term development in physics in the university.Finally,give the conclusions and expectations of the study.
