Aesthetic education in mathematics is an important link to cultivate people,and it is also an important requirement to cultivate students’ core literacy in mathematics.Aesthetic education in mathematics also meets the requirements of mathematics curriculum standards.Symmetrical beauty of mathematics is one of the important contents of mathematical beauty,so this study,based on junior high school mathematics teaching,explores the teaching status of symmetrical beauty of mathematics in junior high school,and accordingly puts forward effective countermeasures for the teaching of symmetrical beauty of mathematics in junior high school,providing some reference for junior high school mathematics teachers to teach symmetrical beauty of mathematics.The methods of literature research,questionnaire survey,interview and quantitative research are used to study the symmetrical beauty of junior high school mathematics.Firstly,the constructivist learning theory and humanistic learning theory are discussed to provide the research basis of educational theory for this paper;The main concepts involved,namely mathematical beauty,mathematical aesthetic education and mathematical symmetry beauty,are explained.In order to grasp the beauty of symmetry in junior high school mathematics teaching,this paper analyzes the requirements of mathematical symmetry in mathematics curriculum standards,the beauty of symmetry in figures,the beauty of symmetry in formulas,the beauty of symmetry in theorems and the beauty of symmetry in problem-solving thinking methods.61 math teachers and 229 students from several junior high schools were selected as the survey objects,and a questionnaire on the teaching status of symmetrical beauty in junior high schools was designed.The basic information,cognition,attitude,cognition and implementation of the questionnaire were analyzed,and individual teachers and students were interviewed,and relevant conclusions were drawn.The positive aspects of the investigation conclusion: both teachers and students have a certain understanding of the beauty of mathematical symmetry;Teachers and students have positive attitudes towards the beauty of mathematics;Teachers and students all think that aesthetic education in mathematics is necessary;Both teachers and students agree that the beauty of mathematical symmetry should be integrated into classroom teaching.The negative aspects of the investigation conclusion: teachers do not fully understand the specific requirements in the mathematics curriculum standards;The consciousness of infiltrating the symmetrical beauty of mathematics in teaching needs to be improved;Mathematical symmetry beauty is seldom used as a thinking method to solve problems;There is a single way to integrate the symmetrical beauty of mathematics into teaching.In view of the conclusion,this paper puts forward some countermeasures for the teaching of symmetrical beauty in junior middle school mathematics: improving teachers’ understanding of mathematical beauty in curriculum standards;Understand the connotation of mathematical symmetry beauty pluralism;Strengthen the function of mathematical symmetrical beauty problem-solving thinking method;Carry out thematic teaching of mathematical symmetry beauty;Promote the rational use of information technology in the beauty of mathematical symmetry.Combining the conclusion of questionnaire and interview,the paper effectively evades the problems existing in practical teaching,applies the proposed countermeasures to teaching cases,and chooses "absolute value" and "design with axial symmetry" for teaching design from the perspective of mathematical aesthetic education,so as to provide reference for the teaching of mathematical symmetry beauty.
