With the continuous advancement of the urbanization process,the social environment and structure of the survival and development of rural schools have undergone corresponding changes,and the gap between urban and rural areas is increasing.Against this social background,rural schools are struggling to develop.The principal is the soul of a school,and the leadership of the principal has a profound impact on the growth of students,the development of teachers and the future of the school.Excellent principal leadership is the tractor that promotes the endogenous development of rural schools and an important force for promoting the reform of rural education.Based on this,this paper takes the leadership of principals as the starting point,selects principal Z as a research case,and conducts detailed interviews and meticulous observations on the sample,collects abundant cases of principal Z in daily teaching and work practice,and analyzes his work in depth.The leadership demonstrated in the school work,trying to summarize the important factors that affect the leadership of Principal Z,hoping to provide reference ideas for the leadership improvement of the same type of rural principals.This article consists of six parts,the following is the content of each chapter:The first part is the introduction,which consists of five parts: research origin,research purpose and significance,domestic and foreign literature review,concept definition and theoretical basis.This paper puts forward research questions from three aspects: policy,practice and theory,summarizes the relevant research on principal leadership by domestic and foreign scholars,and defines the three concepts of rural school,leadership and principal leadership,and finally discusses the theoretical basis of this paper.The second part is the research design.In the early stage of the study,the literature method was used to clarify the research questions,the interview method,observation method and case study method were used to investigate the sample principals in the mid-term,and the grounded theory was used to analyze the data in the later stage.He sorted out the research process,described the research cases and the situation of his school in detail,and finally analyzed the reliability and validity of this research,reflecting the scientific nature of the research design.The third part is the analysis of the research data,using grounded theory to analyze the research data,and summarizing the five types of leadership of President Z from top to bottom through three-level coding: value leadership,teaching leadership,structural leadership,and morality.Leadership and interpersonal leadership,and from the perspective of systems theory,a theoretical model of principal leadership with teaching and learning as the core was constructed,and the theoretical saturation was tested.The fourth part is the analysis of the leadership of rural school principals.It shows the rich cases of Principal Z in his daily teaching and work,describes his specific cases in five aspects such as value leadership and structural leadership,and reflects his mutual communication and mutual influence with the internal and external subjects of the school,and he play a key role in driving school development.The fourth part is the performance picture of rural school principal’s leadership.Demonstrates Principal Z’s daily teaching and the rich cases in his work describe his specific cases in five aspects including value leadership and structural leadership,reflecting his key role in leading and influencing the school’s multi-subjects to promote the stable development of the school.The fifth part is the influencing factors of rural school principal’s leadership.Through on-the-spot investigation and understanding,based on the system theory and the leadership trait theory,an in-depth analysis was carried out from three aspects:personal factors,external factors of the school,and internal factors of the school.The sixth part is thinking and suggestions,mainly from two parts: research findings and research prospects.The research findings point out that the principal’s personal characteristics,the campus ecological environment and the principal’s leadership art are closely related to the strength of the principal’s leadership.The research outlook points out some of the limitations and shortcomings of this research and the planned improvement measures in the follow-up research.
