In May 2014,The Notification about Compiling the Project Plan of Improving the Basic Conditions for Running Weak Compulsory Schools(2014-2018),which was established by the National Office of Revision, pointed that improving the basic conditions of running weak compulsory schools was a big decision of the Party Central Committee and the State Council which focused on the education development in poor areas. It's very important to do the job to narrow the gap between urban and rural areas and between different regions. However, the reform of weak schools is not only the transformation and upgrading of infrastructure, but also the improvement of the "soft power" of schools. In this process,as the core figure of the school, the principal's leadership level will directly determine the reform effect of weak schools.H primary school in Hebi city,Henan province is a typical weak school at the junction of urban and rural areas. Before the reform, the infrastructure was weak, the campus atmosphere was bad,the social reputation was poor, and the students were severely lost. However, since its new principal took office in August 2015,in the past three years, the appearance of H primary school has undergone fundamental changes, with significant improvement in infrastructure, vigorous development of campus culture, teachers' enthusiasm for teaching and remarkable improvement in teaching performance, which have won unanimous recognition from the society. This paper analyzes the typical case of the reform of H primary school,a weak school, and conducts in-depth interviews and observations to study the leadership role played by the "new principal" in the reform process of the school. The study found that D,the new principal of H primary school, played a decisive role in the success of the reform. After taking office, principal D reversed the weak situation of H primary school by means of hardware upgrading, cultural revitalization, teacher team building, characteristic school-based curriculum development and school brand building.Principal D's reform reflects his excellent leadership, including political leadership, cultural leadership, curriculum leadership, resource leadership and brand leadership. It is the comprehensive use of these leadership that enables H primary school to achieve a breakthrough from a weak school to a demonstration school in just three years. These leadership efforts are closely related to President D's personal experience. He is a senior teacher. He has been engaged in political teaching and class teacher work in first-line middle schools for a long time.He was the director of the school administration and education office and the director of the district education bureau. He dares to break through the conventional, has the courage to take responsibility and acts quickly, with the spirit of practice.Professional teacher background, rich administrative experience and his own practical ability are the reasons why President D can give full play to the leadership of the President.Based on the case study of principal D,this paper suggests that,in order to promote the benign development of weak schools, educational administrative departments should pay attention to the teaching years, administrative experience and practical ability of the principal candidates when selecting and appointing principals, establish a bottom-up principal training system, and include excellent teachers into the preparatory principal training series. At the same time,as the principal,we should love this job and set a good example; To continue to learn and reflect leads the development of the school;Be entrepreneurial and good at managing and running schools;Pay attention to communication, take the initiative to cooperate with the team of education experts and strive to improve our leadership in school transformation and development.
