Medical Social Work Intervention Research On Charitable Medical Assistance In Public Hospitals

With the support and encouragement of national policies,multiple subjects such as charitable organizations participate in the process of medical assistance,and the subjects of medical assistance become more diversified.The number of public hospitals undertaking charitable medical assistance projects has increased significantly.Medical social workers are involved in charitable medical assistance services for professionals,which can improve the effect of medical services and make medical assistance more accurate.Based on the theory of welfare pluralism,this study collects data on the medical social work’s involvement in charitable medical assistance in public hospitals through the application of literature method,participatory observation method and semi-structured interview method in the practice of S Hospital in Jinan.The 999 humanitarian assistance project and "Little Hero Energy Station" project of S Hospital’s Medical social work Department are taken as the study cases.This paper explores the process of medical social work’s intervention in charitable medical assistance,analyzes the advantages ande to th limitations of medical social work’s intervention in charitable medical assistance through case work and group work,and finally puts forward relevant suggestions for the problems.Through research,the author finds that when medical social work intervenes in charitable medical assistance services,it does not simply provide economic assistance service objects,but plays multiple roles such as resource linker,service provider,supporter and enabler.Social workers link charitable resources,provides professional services,provides psychological counseling and strengthens social support.The charity medical assistance service is more professional,standardized and more in line with the concept of "whole person" health by providing individual,psychological and social services starting from economic assistance.In the process of medical social work’s involvement in charitable medical assistance,professional recognition of medical social work is not high,role positioning and the actual work content appear deviation,the scope and extent of charitable medical assistance are limited,patients and their families conflict with or abuse charity aid resources,which makes it difficult to accurately connect the aid objects and medical social workers are not professional enough.These are all problems that have appeared in this process.To solve these problems,based on the theory of welfare pluralism,the author combines multiple welfare providers,charitable medical assistance services and medical social work,and puts forward corresponding suggestions:firstly,increasing the publicity of medical social workers’involvement in charitable medical assistance projects,increasing the contact between medical social workers and medical staff and patients,improving the recognition degree of medical social workers,and clarifying the role of medical social workers;secondly expanding the scope of charitable medical assistance,changing the way lump-sum aid works and enriching the content and form of assistance;thirdly,changing the irrational belief of the aid object and establishing rational belief,so that the charity resources can be fully applied;fourthly,strengthening the training of medical social workers,improving their professional ability.
