The Study On The Practice Model Of Medical Social Work Intervening Poor Patients With Charity Assistance

In order to alleviate the problem of "poverty due to illness" and ensure that everyone can get treatment,the government of China actively encourages all sectors of society to participate in the process of medical assistance,providing assistance to poor patients,reducing their economic burden and ensuring their basic health right.In this context,public hospitals actively carry out charitable relief activities to provide timely assistance to patients in these hospitals.As a transmitter of charitable services,medical social workers play an important role in hospital charity relief activities.Therefore,this paper takes Nanjing R Hospital as a research site to study how medical social workers carry out charitable relief services in the hospital;what role medical social workers play in the process of charity assistance for patients;what difficulties and problems medical social workers encounter in hospital charity assistance.This study consists of three main components.The first part is a description of the practice mode of medical social workers' intervention,showing the tasks and interventions of medical social workers at various stages in the case service process,and the way medical social workers manage charitable resources.The second part is the research on the role of medical social work in the charity rescue intervention.It mainly analyzes the role of social workers in building a charity rescue network,delivering charity services and meeting the needs of patients at multiple levels.The third part is the study of the dilemma of the medical social workers involved in the charity rescue process.It mainly analyzes the limitation of the scope and degree of assistance in the process of cooperation with the foundation,resulting in a small amount of assistance for the patients and greater economic pressure;The negative rescue concept embodied in the rescue process emphasizes one-way rescue and after-the-fact rescue,ignoring the excavation of patients' ability and potential,which may lead to patients still in poverty after discharge.Although there have been many studies on charity assistance and medical social work,there are still research innovations in this study.This study does not study the charity relief service of public hospitals from the macro perspective of how medical assistance and charity assistance connect.Instead,it studies how to carry out charity assistance from a micro perspective,and discusses the predicament in the charity rescue process through empirical evidence.In addition,this study does not focus on the professionalization,specialization,and intervention research on patients of a certain kind of disease in the field of medical social work,but returns to how to solve the economic problems of the disadvantaged groups,which is the most essential problems of medical social work,and research how social work intervene into the hospital's charity rescue process.This research is conducive to supplementing the research on the connection between charity assistance and medical assistance.Moreover,it also helps to cause medical social workers to pay attention to solving the economic problems of patients,focusing on the difficulty of medical treatment for vulnerable groups and solving the problem of medical difficulties,thereby expanding the work content and working methods of medical social.
