A Study On The Four-way Linkage Model Of Psychological Assistance For Hospitalized Children

After the emergence of medical social work in China,many experts and scholars have actively explored the localization of medical social work in order to embed in the hospital system,supplement the shortage of medical services and reflect their own professionalism.How to play the role of medical social work efficiently and enhance its adaptability to the current needs of hospitals and society has become the main direction of current research.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the linkage between medical social workers and other available resources.In 2021,the Social Work Department of Hospital S introduced the Red Foundation’s"Hero Energy Station" service,which provides psychological support to meet the psychological needs of children admitted to the hospital.Taking this project as an example,the author introduces the four-way system of "medical,nursing,volunteer and foundation",which is a service delivery model led by medical social workers and linking medical and nursing staff,volunteers and the foundation.This paper first analyzes the specific psychological needs of children admitted to the hospital,including admission anxiety,adjustment to the hospital,parent-child relationship,and psychological stress from treatment costs.Next,we introduce the roles and mechanisms of the quadrilateral model to introduce the service process of the quadrilateral model of psychological assistance for children.In the four-way linkage model,the foundation,as the project fund provider,supervises the service activities,the social workers and volunteers,as the service providers,and the medical and nursing staff of the department,as the collaborators,linkage services,through the integration of social resources,to build a social platform adapted to the children and their families,effectively alleviate their admission anxiety,reduce psychological stress,improve the adaptation to hospital admission,and improve parent-child relationship,thus building a perfect psychological support network.At the same time,in view of the problems found in the cooperation system,quadrilateral role distribution,professional competence level of medical social workers,and volunteer incentive system,the author proposes countermeasures to improve the quadrilateral cooperation system,balance the quadrilateral roles,strengthen the professional construction of medical social work,innovate volunteer incentive methods,and improve the project evaluation mechanism,so as to promote the social promotion of this model,continuously improve service quality,and create more useful practices of medical social work services.
