At present,China has entered an aging society, and the degree of aging is also deepening.Actively responding to the aging of the population is of great significance to national development.Compared with the ordinary elderly, the disabled elderly need more care resources, and their caregivers bear more pressure.Due to economic reasons, rural low-income disabled families tend to choose family pension, which makes rural low-income disabled families often face multiple difficulties such as economy and physical strength.Over time,it will have a negative impact on the quality of life and living standards of family caregivers of rural low-income disabled elderly. The research questions of this paper are as follows:First, what is the current situation of family caregivers of low-income disabled elderly in rural areas and what difficulties are they facing?Second, what are the reasons for the plight of family caregivers of rural low-income disabled elderly?Third, how to alleviate the plight of family caregivers of rural low-income disabled elderly?Based on the theory of social support, supplemented by the theory of stress response, this paper will study the economic distress, physical and mental health damage, lack of care skills, social interaction and lack of policy support caused by the lack of social support network support for the family caregivers of rural low-income disabled elderly, hoping to strive for more resources for rural low-income disabled elderly and provide more social attention and breathing opportunities for their caregivers. This study takes the family caregivers of rural low-income disabled elderly as the research object, and adopts semi-structured in-depth interviews, observation methods and scale methods to collect data from 15 family caregivers of rural low-income disabled elderly. The study found that the care work of rural low-income disabled families is often undertaken by older women, and the heavy care tasks are not shared. They often face economic pressure, personal health, psychological pressure, social isolation, and lack of professional skills. From the perspective of social support theory, the main reasons for these problems are the small scale of social support network, the high degree of homogeneity, the low frequency of interaction among members within the network, and the lack of formal support and informal support, which makes it difficult to obtain support from other family members, neighbors, social organizations and other aspects. In order to help the family caregivers of the poor and disabled elderly get out of the predicament, social support should be vigorously developed. The government, community, social work, family and all members of society work together to provide policy support and interpretation for family caregivers, mobilize human and medical resources in the community to serve disabled elderly and caregivers.Social workers use professional skills to ease the tension between caregivers and their family members, form a good social atmosphere of respect for family caregivers within the society, and enhance and improve the social support of caregivers.
