As a new training method from the field of sports rehabilitation,functional training has been widely used in physical training because of its safer and scientific model.This study is carried out in order to improve athletes’ competitive ability and prevent sports injuries.In this research,literature method,expert investigation method,experimental method,mathematical statistics method and other research methods,adhering to the scientific,targeted principles,designed the functional training plan,and then hunan Institute of Science and Technology 20 male track and field athletes to carry out 18 weeks of functional training experimental research.The experimental results show that:(1)the pre-test results show that there is no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in FMS score and physical fitness test.(2)After 18 weeks of training intervention,the self-control before and after the experiment in the experimental group showed that the body shape(height,weight)and physical function(vital capacity)of the athletes after the experiment were basically unchanged compared with those before the experiment.The improvement of other indexes was significant(P < 0.05),except that the achievement of sitting forward flexion(P = 0.164 > 0.05)was not obvious.(3)Through the self-control of the control group,except for the scores of squatting and trunk rotation stability(P < 0.05),the other tests showed no significant difference compared with those before the experiment;From the results of physical fitness test,although the physical fitness of the control group has been improved to a certain extent,the results of only 30 m pole around running and 1000 m have been significantly improved compared with those before the experiment(P <0.05).(4)From the comparison between the experimental group and the control group,the FMS score of the experimental group was significantly better than that of the control group after the experiment;According to the results of physical fitness test,the effect of 50 m,30m pole around running and 1000 m improvement in the experimental group is more significant.The following conclusions are drawn: functional training is significantly better than traditional physical training in improving athletes’ speed,endurance and sensitivity.Functional training does not have obvious advantages in the change of body shape,the improvement of body function,and the improvement of strength and flexibility.The results can provide some reference for the physical training of male track and field athletes.
