People with mental disorders(hereinafter referred to as people with mental disabilities)need long-term personal care because of their obvious deficiencies in cognitive behavior, interaction and social-emotional aspects, and because there are no curative drugs and means available at this stage. In recent years, the incidence of mental disorders in China has been on the rise, with statistics showing that the total number of people with mental disorders has exceeded 200 million, including over 16 million people with severe mental disorders.Family careers of persons with severe mental disorders,as the main caregivers of persons with mental disorders in China, face psychological pressure from physical, financial, social and social discrimination in the process of caregiving. However, against the backdrop of China’s inadequate welfare policies for persons with sperm disabilities, little attention and support has been given to family careers of young people with sperm disabilities as "potential patients".Through fieldwork, this paper seeks to assess the needs of caregivers of persons with intellectual disabilities by presenting their daily lives and analyzing the major caregiving stresses they face.Six activities were conducted in the form of group work, guided by enrichment theory and symbolic interaction theory,in order to create an effective intervention for the stressed careers of persons with intellectual disabilities in the study area.In the research process, the author analyzed and evaluated the problems encountered in group work by using questionnaires, scales, structured interviews and other research methods. It was found that through the intervention of horticultural therapy group, the group members got sensory stimulation, relieved anxiety, depression and other bad emotions, and psychological pressure was significantly relieved.By feeling the fragility and strength of life,we gain a positive view of the meaning of life.Communication skills have been improved to some extent, peer support has been expanded. The smooth running and good results of the group work also provide some reflections on the activities and intervention experiences for this study, which will hopefully provide some reference for the relevant practical interventions in the future.
