From "Battlefield" To "Workplace"

Retired soldiers need to make corresponding adjustments and transformations from a highly organized military environment to a free and complex local environment.The relatively closed military environment is not easy for retired soldiers to form a more comprehensive understanding of society.Faced with the transformation of the scene and the two different interaction rules,veterans may experience a lot of discomfort at the physical,psychological and social levels.Therefore,it is an important and worthwhile question to study whether retired soldiers can successfully pass through the adaptation period from “battlefield” to“workplace”.This paper firstly takes the cultural shock of “battlefield” and “workplace” as the starting point,selects six veterans as interview objects,discusses the feelings brought by their service experience,and analyzes the confusion and needs that veterans may face in terms of social adaptation.Secondly,it analyzes from the veterans themselves,social support network and policy and service system.Thirdly,based on the social work professional methods learned and based on the theory of social adaptation and social support,one of the retired soldiers was selected for case intervention.In the process of case intervention,by establishing a professional relationship of mutual trust with Fan,it helps Fan to clarify his own position and adjust his personal cognition.Then use peer groups as a medium to encourage Fan to take the initiative to communicate and communicate with others,so as to improve interpersonal skills.At the same time,the author actively linked relevant resources for Fan to improve his education and skills,so as to promote his smooth employment and complete the adaptation and transition from “battlefield” to “workplace”.Finally,the author reflects and summarizes the entire research process,and puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for improving the social adaptability of veterans from three perspectives: improving the ability of soldiers themselves,providing strong support from the society,and improving the policy and service system.This study has played a role in expanding and improving the relatively weak research field of social work services for veterans to a certain extent.However,in the research process,there are also some shortcomings such as single research method,insufficient analysis of research data and limited research conclusions.
