| As an important force in social governance, social work plays an important role in solving social problems and maintaining social stability. In recent years, due to the rapid development of our countryâs economy and society, the demand for social workers is also increasing. But at the same time, the problem of job burnout of social workers is also aggravating the brain drain of social workers, which seriously restricts the development of social work in our country.By reviewing the literature,it is found that the current research on social workersâ job burnout is mostly concentrated in a single theoretical perspective, and a single quantitative or qualitative research method is used to analyze the social workerâs job burnout problem. This study adopts the theory of resource conservation, from the perspective of "job requirements-resources",and combines quantitative research and qualitative research methods to explore the causes of social workersâ job burnout and propose solutions accordingly.First of all,in order to understand the current situation of social workersâ burnout, the self-fill questionnaire method was used to survey social workers in Guangzhou by distributing burnout questionnaires. The current situation of burnout of social workers is reflected by analyzing the basic situation of social workersâ burnout, the difference in demographic characteristics of burnout, and the relationship between burnout and job requirements-resources.Secondly,in order to explore the causes of the problem of social workersâ burnout, the unstructured observation method and the unstructured interview method were used to deepen the understanding of social workersâ burnout.Through professional internship, the researchers conducted a six-month participatory observation at the front-line social work station, understood the real work status and survival status of social workers, and formed an understanding of the background of social workersâ burnout;then, through hierarchical and random sampling, eight social workers were selected from the survey data database for one-on-one interviews, and the causes of burnout were analyzed from the perspective of "work requirements" and "work resources" of resource conservation theory. Finally, based on the current situation and causes of social worker burnout that have been learned,a solution to the problem of burnout of social workers is proposed from the perspective of work requirements and work resources. The results showed that social workersâ burnout was between "frequent" and "frequent";job requirements had a positive predictive effect on burnout, work resources had a negative predictive effect on burnout, and the variance interpretation rate of "job requirements-resources" for burnout was 54.2%.Based on interviews and observations,it is found that social workers are mainly faced with heavy workload, high emotional requirements, work and family conflicts,as well as poor resources such as unclear work prospects, low work autonomy, and insufficient social support, and the imbalance between work requirements and work resources leads to burnout among social workers. Finally, from the perspective of the high work requirements faced by social workers and the dilemma of obtaining work resources, the countermeasures to solve the problem of burnout of social workers are explored. |
